You also live in VA, so you can't claim DC anymore.
On paper, you will never top NYC. NYC has been romanticized as this grandiose city by American and foreign culture when in reality it's a giant piece of trash.

In reality, I will take DC's food scene now over NYC and I think the gap will only get larger as more and more top tier chefs open up restaurants here. Anyways, you are free to disagree with me; a lot of people do and they end up with less money than me. Enjoy!

SF is a garbage city unless you enjoy homeless people.

There is zero appeal for me to go to Washington DC. I'd probably go to 100 cities before I went to DC.

    Butthurt?

I really don't care if you ever come here, but don't opine about the city without ever having visiting. It's getting better every day even if its liberal la-la land.

I've been there a few times, but never seen that on the menu. I'll look out for it next time I am there. My gf loves Teds and I think it's alright. That's not my favorite type of cuisine if I am going out to eat. It's also turning into a local chain. I believe they have 5 or more locations now. Did you get an "adult" milkshake or one of their homemade pop tarts?

Like buying my can of cranberry that comes out with the rings on it every year.

Yeah the first time I was there I had a White Russian milk shake and the second time I got a salted caramel pop tart. Both were great.

Have you not been to DC or just not going back?

Definitely going back within the next 2-3 years.

Now that everyone in my immediate family (about 12 of us) are adults, Christmas feels overrated. A few years ago instead of everyone buying presents for everyone, we just set it up so you buy a $75, $50, and $25 gift for three different people. Still feels like we're just trading money, though. Next year my daughter should be all about Christmas though so it'll be better.

I understand that this is probably a highlight of your lives though. Hope you enjoy it!

My sibs and I plus spouses (13 total) do a gift exchange every year. We draw names at Thanksgiving and there is a $30-$50 limit. I think it's fun buying something small that they would probably never buy on their own.

Shopping for my nieces and nephew is my favorite part of Christmas, though. Unless we're including getting drunk and playing Win, Lose or Draw.
