  This years sweet corn, mix corn, tomatoes, watermelon, green beans, peppers and beets have turned out great... The banana peppers are really great ... Deep fried soooooo good
  i think this year crop of watermelon has great flavor ...
  
  Good year for Bellys garden...... This will be my last grown season ...I'm not gardening next year...

  I didnt pay nearly as much attention to my garden this year and with the lack of rain in my area it showed. Still had some tasty ambrosia corn and some tomatoes, just not nearly as much as years past.

  My most successful crops were jalapeños (with a major kick to them), cilantro, lettuce and spinach.
  
  I went all in on Roma tomatoes only. They turned out tasting ok, but overall disappointing. Onions - so so.
  
  This was my first year with raised boxes and I learned that I need to water everyday if it doesn't rain.
  
  But it was so much better not having to bend down to weed, plant, etc.

  Garden was pretty bad this year. I did not water it enough and you could tell. Tomatoes were small and not juicy. The peppers were hotter than fire. I pickled 10 quarts and froze some. Onions did great harvested about fifty or so all hanging in the basement. Cucumbers never really took off and my melons, zucchini, and squash was ate by deer. The early stuff like radishes and garlic done pretty good. My apple trees all were shit along with the pear trees and plum tree. The cherry tree produced about a handful of cherries. The grape vines are about the only thing I can brag about. I froze four gallons of grape juice. I will make jelly once the weather gets cooler. The strawberry plants were raided by the neighbor kids. I think I may have picked three.

  I tried a raised bed for the first time this year. We live in suburbia, so I was surprised with the amount of deer that were eating my stuff. Between that and going to Europe for two weeks we had a shit garden. The tomatoes started great but then got some sort of disease where the branches that just started growing would turn brown. The pickling cucumbers were good until the deer. Once I put a fence up my cayenne hybrid peppers have been killing it, as has the jalepeno. Planted some Okra and it has been growing well too. I'll try again next year, and since I already have a fence it should be better.

  My garden sucked as we never got any rain most of the summer. Fortunately just a little to the north where I work gardens went much better and they are sharing their good crops. I don't think anybodies sweet corn did well around here though. A little to the south it went very well.

  Yeah, our area got hosed that is for sure.
  
  I tried a little underground watering thing with PVC pipe this year and some without as a test case. The parts with it it the corn turned out pretty well with the watering directly to the roots.

  ...lady here at work must have the most incredible garden as she's been bringing in zucchini, bell peppers, beets, and beans for weeks for anyone to take home and all have been incredible.

  Zucchini and peppers were fantastic. Could not keep the groundhog off the cukes and beans
  The past two years I've had terrible tomatoes ... That yellow/black fungus would sap the plant's strength. This year I made a separate area about 50 yards away from the main garden and it worked... Great tomatoes=lots of salsa!
