Netflix Series Discussion Thread

SnotBubblesStarted watching "Stranger Things." It's my first Netflix Original Series.
Anyone else watching this show? I'm 3 episodes in. Started watching on a recommendation from a friend. Excellent stuff so far. It's a cross between "It" and "Signs." -
Benny The JetI'm wrapped up in Narcos right now...might try this one next.

Just finished Narcos. I read a book about Pablo years ago so I knew about some of what was going on in the series. I am amazed at how much money was made. Its not in the series but according to Pablos son, Pablo was losing 1 billion dollars a year to rats/mice and it rotting away. His son also said that there is probably still millions of dollars hidden that has not been found yet.Benny The Jet;1811635 wrote:I'm wrapped up in Narcos right now...might try this one next.
Im going to start Strangers Things next since I have been told its worth watching. -
Laley23Stranger Things was good. But, not my favorite Netflix show.
Narcos is what I'm watching now. I like Bloodline a lot (second season not quite as good). The Marvel shows are all great, but S2 of Daredevil left a lot to be desired.
House of Cards for me remains the best. Some will say it's gone downhill, which may be true, but it's still top notch programming.
I didn't make it through the second season of Orange is the New Black. -

GOONx19Not Netflix, but I don't feel like searching for the TV thread. My wife was watching the new Ted Danson show and saw this scoring system they use to determine if people go to heaven.
Third only to "end slavery" and "save a drowning child" is "remain loyal to the Cleveland Browns". -
ernest_t_bass"It" and "Signs"? Really?

SnotBubbles
Yes, I think that's a fair description. Watch it and you'll understand why.ernest_t_bass;1811866 wrote:"It" and "Signs"? Really? -
ZWICK 4 PREZI thought Stranger Things had a good story and well acted.. I guess maybe its just not my style? I enjoyed it enough though.

I've watched all of it. A lot of films from that era could be referenced. ET is one. But Signs? Really? Really Louise?SnotBubbles;1812052 wrote:Yes, I think that's a fair description. Watch it and you'll understand why. -
Laley23I don't see Signs in that show anywhere lol.

Laley23Has anyone watched Luke Cage yet?
-
SportsAndLadyI'm gonna start it soon. Heard good things.
Not Netflix but has anyone started watching Westworld? It's really good. -
Laley23I'm liking Westworld. They are definitely moving slow on the overall plot, but really good through 2 episodes.

iclfan2I laugh while watching the Ranch, a lot. That's all I need out of a show. Good stuff.

Commander of AwesomeNever heard of the Ranch so I looked it up on IMDB and saw this review:

Everyone from that 70's show merged into this. 13 April 2016 | by Charles Demers – See all my reviews
Pretty damn bad show. This is a 1:1 copy of that 70's show with minor details.
Grumpy dad? Check. Likable mom? Check. Messed up parents relationship (Donna's)? Check. Kelso? Check. Hyde? Check. Everyone sleeping with everyone? Check. Absolutely horrendous laugh track? Check. Completely predictable: Check.
The best lines of the show is when they swear; that's the highlight of every episode. Rehashed jokes, bad acting, no plot or no reason to keep watching. Sam Eliot seems to have developed a speech impedament and can barely articulate anything, have to rewind to try to understand and max out the volume...
"Season 2" is now basically that 70's show turned into a chick-flick type TV series. "Watch Kelso turn into Jackie!"... A few love stories wrapped in bad jokes. They appear to have removed the horrid laugh track and the actual laughter, well... appears to confirm that the jokes aren't funny. I also wrote this review before Fez -- I MEAN Wilmer Valderrama -- appeared in the show.
lol, think I'll sit this one out. -
Benny The JetSo here's my 2 reviews from Netflix Originals
Narcos: awesome. Season 1 was better than 2, but both really good. Lot of reading subtitles fyi, but worth it
Stranger Things: almost bailed after 1st episode...but glad I stuck it out. Lot of nostalgia with 80s things.
Watched first episode of Luke Cage, not overly impressed. Has anybody watch the whole first season? Should I continue? -
FatHobbit
I agree with that. A friend of mine who has decent (similar?) taste in movies recommended it. I almost bailed after episode 1 but stuck with it because she said it was so good. I definitely liked it, but now I have to wait for season 2...Benny The Jet;1815855 wrote: Stranger Things: almost bailed after 1st episode...but glad I stuck it out. Benny The JetI've tried 3 episodes of Luke Cage...just can't get into it. Thought it was going to be super serious and real dark, but it's that, and some weird humor type stuff with it. Giving up.
