This years outside summer projects...(honey do list)

  • Belly35
I started a few weeks go in preparing for this years summer projects (some are carried over from last year).
Picked up 170 bags of mulch from Home Depot. Figure I will do a little mulching at a time this year few bags per week per flower bed.
Going to take down the dog kennels and build a green house on the same stop.
Still have those back steps made from barn foundation stone to finish. Those stone are not getting any lighter this year.
Will be taking down two more huge old sugar maples and planting with red maples or some type of dog wood tree.
    Plus the garden.

what on your summer project list ?

Did they deliver and drop off a couple pallets full of mulch or did you have to restack it all?

How much does 170 bags of mulch cost? Surely you could've just had some delivered and dumped for much cheaper.

Maybe cheaper but this way I can spread the mulch per bag per flower bed and don't have this pile in my drive way

Patio gives me fits....easy to paint but hard to get old paint off and get to adhere once painted. May have to use the stuff to put on first that helps it adhere....but want just to paint. I don't enjoy the trimming or any other stuff that goes along with painting.

We built a raised garden bed a couple weeks ago, and are building a deck and patio in the next couple weeks.

Paint all the porch entrance-ways, new outdoor carpet on screened-in porch, re-seal driveway; and probably paint the garage walls and ceiling..... and spread a load of mulch in the week or two.

I'm in the process of buying a new house, so I don't know exactly what my honeydo list is going to look like, but it promises to be brutal.

    ..2 projects for the summer
    1. Paint the inside of the garage

    The hell with the bags!

Will be the first year I am buying the good stuff and having it delivered. Town has free mulch that I used for a number of years but it is shitty and you have to load it yourself. By the time I would take 2-3 trips to get it, loading, unloading and spreading I am just saying the hell with it and paying for good stuff and having it delivered!

Last year tested an irrigation thing for my tomato plants and it worked fantastic so now this year I am expanding it with pvc pipe and doing it with the corn. PIcked the corn up at the feed mill today..the hell with that crappy stuff that most the stores sell. Their ambrosia corn tastes so unbelievable!

Typically put the garden out May 20-25 so don't have to fuck with the frost we always seem to get in early/mid may so the next week to 10 days will be busy but FINALLY looks like the weather is going to break for awhile.

Last year I just had 12"x2" piping than ran to the root area of the tomato plants. (also had 2 plants without it) with a 90 degree elbow to pour water into. The ones with the water system grew much more than others so this year trying it with part of the corn.

Of what? Dirt with PVC underground? Have holes drilled into it so water goes directly to the roots instead of on the top of the ground.
