I may have ran into the "experience needed" situation you guys talked about as the recruiter was vague that they were looking for a sr level (probably why the pay is so much higher) and I only have 2.5 years in this capacity. The owner brought that up too.. But on the flip side the interview lasted an hour and a half and he mentioned a call back later this week to meet with other staff members.. so who knows.
But.. ya.. this guy never mentioned they're looking for a sr level director and he knew damn well I didn't have those kind of years of experience.
Just because your old and have "experience" doesn't mean you're good at your job. Good for you for taking the interview above your alleged experience level. You may just get the job and while you may not get the posted pay; you will see a significant increase in salary.

Well I got a call back for Wednesday. Recruiter could be full of shit, but he says he expects me to get an offer that day. Could be wishful thinking on his part.

Not yet. I met with 3 people today for 3 hours... An hour a piece.

I thought you could do a good job, but we wanted to know if half of your salary you would be willing to donate to social programs so the other parts of our society would not feel bad about your good fortune and your years of hard work.

United Way already gets a direct deposit out of my check. Do they from you?

why would I giving to a company ( United Way) that takes more of my giving for operational cost than to the support of those in need. The Salvation Army provides the same support with less operational overhead.

because they're a company that supports those in need?
  • ZWICK 4 PREZ
And no, I don't donate to Salvation Army because I don't donate to religious homophobes.
  • iclfan2
Such a douchey answer. That said, United Way's overhead isn't that bad compared to other ones. I never supported them because our company tried to shove it down our throats in Cleveland. Hate "forced" donations.

Such is what happens when Belly decides the one thing a thread needs is some of his politard grandstanding.

Eh, it never had much of a chance anyways.

The thread didn't go to shit. Belly called out Zwick, Zwick responded calling out Belly; hilarity issued.

The reality is, this is one of the best threads on the OC right now

81% isn't bad? It is not good either.

I read that their overhead was $0.17 on every dollar. An overhead rate of 81% would be terrible.
  • queencitybuckeye
Better to choose your own causes, and contribute directly. 0% overhead.

83% is not good either. The quality charities should be in the 95% range.

Well I never heard anything since Wednesday so it looks like a swing and a miss.
