    Hell, in grad school I was arguing about an answer with a guy, and after the teacher told us my formula was correct the guy STILL wanted to go with his answer. I just stared at him dumbfounded and said "but the prof just said I'm right".

    I agree that whole deeper, what's the true meaning bull shit is so annoying. Last weekend we went out to the bars here in BG and I noticed this kid who I knew from my freshman year at BG, the guy thought he was some genius because he got an easy ass Philosophy degree. He's now a DJ at bar haha that $40K was so worth it

    My brother-in-law has a $50k job working in PR for a university, but he still DJs on the weekend and picks up an extra $500-750 a night. Granted that's not a some nasty BG bar, but still.

    I love how Engineers believe their curriculum validates them being "smart"...unfortunately many degreed Engineers have zippo common sense and struggle having any kind of success in managerial positions. But continue patting yourselves on the backs and telling each other how smart you all are...in the meantime those of us with MBAs will continue running the planet to the best of our abilities.

    There are plenty of simple MBA programs. If not a top 10-15, MBA really doesn't mean much other than the ability to pass a graduate level program. Plenty of 22 year old's go from a 4 year degree, straight to some mid-level MBA program, which doesn't make them good at management either.

    In a lot of cases, it checks the box. If that's all you're looking to do, go nights and hopefully company may pay for it. A top 10-15 program is really for people looking to change companies or careers in the near future, or if your company really values it and you want to stay on the "star" path.

    But 2-3 jobs out, or 5-6 years it matters very little relative to what you've done since getting your MBA.

    I think it's really dumb to get your MBA out of undergrad. You'll barely get a premium, if any, for the degree. You aren't contributing much for people with real work experience, nor do you get the benefit of seeing how it could have applied to your experiences. Not to mention, you may want to change jobs or careers a few years down the road and time has already diminished whatever value your MBA had.

    An MBA isn't really going to make anyone a better manager of people. It's just a tool-set to help make better decisions.

    That's not correct. A manager can make great decisions and fail because he's lousy at coaching and developing people. We are talking the difference vs. soft skills...most MBA programs, most degree programs for that matter, do little to develop soft skills.

    College-only took two composition classes and got As, they were a joke
    ACT-lowest of the 4 subjects, the reading and English sections I got somewhere around 25/26. I only know that because my composite was 31 and math/science were both 36.
