Where to stay in NYC

4cards...You're going to pay around 150.00 or slightly less per night anywhere in midtown.

AutomatikMaybe in 1989 or for a total shithole.

The Yotel is pretty cheap if you don't mind sleeping on a modernized futon.Automatik;1785292 wrote:The options are endless.
What's your budget? Traveling with kids?
Just a heads up, it won't be cheap. -
AutomatikWe had some of our sales reps stay there 2 summers ago when they were in town for meetings, they were pissed
The roof bar is nice though, but it's a pretty desolate part of town. -

No. Look for the most flamboyant guy at Times Square and ask for the best place to have a meal, the locals selling their broadway shows are more than willing to guide you to a place that's not a "chain" and has great food.Belly35;1785377 wrote:Look up Diner, driven inn and dives for some fun places to enjoy lunch or dinners -
AutomatikI have endless food recommendations. I work in the specialty food biz, it's all we talk about.

Coincidentally my Yotel experience happened when I was in town for the specialty food show at Javits.Automatik;1785776 wrote:I have endless food recommendations. I work in the specialty food biz, it's all we talk about. -
AutomatikFancy Food Show? I'm very familiar, it's fucking chaos when that goes on. I dread that week.

Ramen? I'm a huge fan of Asian food, specifically ramen. This is one of my fav spots, they have two locations. Best pork buns I've ever had.

like_thatIm a fan of most cuisine, but also love Asian food. I have been on an Asian kick lately. These are all awesome, thanks. Do you know of any Korean BBQ spots where you grill the meat yourself at the table?
-
AutomatikI've actually never been to a proper Korean BBQ place. There's a ton of them here though. Here's one I just know of from people at work. It's in Koreatown (Midtown)
Looks solid

I recently tried "shabu shabu" for the first time. Similar to Korean BBQ but Japanese and you cook everything in a massive hotpot at the table. It was fun, kinda weird. I had beef tongue.
