Housing for Black male students
-
Belly35Wow! Educated individuals want to provide housing to Black males because of the low rate of Black male graduating. OK What about drinking fountains, rest room and cafeteria seating....
pretend segregation never happen.

sleeperI think its a great idea. Black males don't graduate college because of white people holding them back so giving them additional special treatment beyond affirmative action will grant a much higher graduation rate.
Only a racist wouldn't understand that. -
Spocki couldnt imagine the outcry if it were for white boys

raiderbuckSounds like Affirmative Action housing to me. I don't have a problem with the scholarship, but segregated housing isn't necessary.

ZunardoSounds mighty stylish.
I'm seeing conflicting data on graduation rate percentages for blacks, or any other demographic - anywhere from 16% to 33%. Anybody have a solid number?
I'd tell the UConn brain trust, "You have four years from now to achieve a a graduation rate among these chosen students within 5% of the white male students at UConn or nationally, whichever is higher. If not, you end the program with a public proclamation that it was a bad idea." -
4cards...I wonder if the dorms will come complete with white bitches?
-
raiderbuckWell...turns out this is not true at all.

Snippet from the Q&A section for the ScHOLA²RS House section on UCONN's website:
"Q: If I apply to live in ScHOLA²RS House, will I be segregated from the rest of campus?
A: No. Typically, students do not spend their days in their residence hall. Students are in classes across campus, they participate in student organizations, they apply for leadership opportunities and work in offices across campus, they study in the library, they share meals in several dining halls, and so forth. A student’s Learning Community is simply a cohort of students they engage in activities with, such as they would if they joined another organization. It will not encompass a student’s entire college experience. What it will do is provide a group of faculty, staff and students who support each other and encourage the success of its members academically, professionally, and socially. In addition, the 40 ScHOLA²RS House students will live on a floor of over 100 students, so they will engage easily with students from all backgrounds in their residence hall." -

Also the opposite of what a AA goal is which is increase diversity of college campuses to better everyone at school. Isn't this an admission that encouraging diversity is a crock of shit?raiderbuck;1779588 wrote:Sounds like Affirmative Action housing to me. Diversity programs are only designed as lawsuit mitigation devices and provide no other real value beyond that. -

Sweet fucking jebus. Anyone so dedicated to ALWAYS presenting himself as a complete moron really has no right to offer any criticism of anyone else, as far as the pursuit of education goes.Spock;1779800 wrote:the "college for everyone" movement will have high drop out rates. Thank goodness you never attended college, or you would've been a part of a drop out statistic, as well.Spock;1779800 wrote:the "college for everyone" movement will have high drop out rates. Most people that drop out shouldnt of started to begin with -
