What do you actually do with the lottery winnings?

You assume that the people in this thread don't have investments elsewhere...sleeper;1775547 wrote:Well once again, I didn't play so I "won" money. My "$2"(because Lord knows you dropped more than that on each drawing) is now being invested at a 7% annual return.
Hope poverty is working well for you guys.
Spent $20, got $8 back. By sleeper's logic, I should be living in a cardboard box by the end of the month!ZWICK 4 PREZ;1775599 wrote:I spent 2 and won 4 (only got the powerball). I increased my investment 100% in one day compared to Sleepers 7% in one year. On track to be a millionaire by tonight instead of 2 years! -

seeing as how the lottery caters to white trash, that is likely not the case -
Laley23I would also quantify this as entertainment. I only bought $2 each round, and ended up winning $7, so net $1. So I won money, and was entertained for a decent chunk of time the last week and a half lol.

Again...you assume that everyone in this thread is A. White trash and/or B. Bet the farm on the lotto. I'm sure people do that. But that doesn't make it the norm. Especially as evidenced by the fact that several well off people purchased tickets for this drawing as well. I guess those people pissed away their fortunes as well?MontyBrunswick;1775662 wrote:rofl...

IliketurtlesI spent $30 total between the last 2 drawings and got my $30 back. Granted it did cost me a little over 1/8 tank of gas to drive to get them but it was two fun trips with a friend talking about what we would do if we won and just talking about random shit as well. I used to play all the time when I lived in Ohio but now its a 25 minute drive to Tennessee so I only do it when it gets up really high.

Being the only one continually arguing against playing the lottery constitutes not being salty?sleeper;1775691 wrote:Again, more salt trucks needed for this thread. -

People are mad because I'm right. That is the reality.friendfromlowry;1775743 wrote:Being the only one continually arguing against playing the lottery constitutes not being salty? -

Well, personally I'm not mad. Hard to be angry over something not happening that only had 1:2.9 million odds of anyways.sleeper;1775747 wrote:People are mad because I'm right. That is the reality.
I'm surprised, though, that people still think Monty is thavoice. -

I was more feeling pity for you, since, as someone who is not a poor person, I don't look at wasting $2 or $4 as anything to even blink my eyes over. I do feel bad (in a somewhat contemptuous way, but bad nonetheless) for anyone who looks at that pittance of money and is all like, "OMG! THAT SHOULD BE CAREFULLY INVESTED BECAUSE IF IT'S JUST THROWN AWAY, YOU'RE RUINED!!!!!", as they obviously are not well off. I do feel I could have made better use of that money by giving it to you, so you could eat real food that day, but, meh...I don't really care that much.sleeper;1775747 wrote:People are mad because I'm right. My level of care is near zero. The only reason I "care" is because poor decisions add up over time to keep people poor. These same poor people will then complain that they can't afford anything and that the rich aren't paying their fair share. The reality is, those small poor decisions over time, which they've conveniently forgot about, is what makes them poor.Heretic;1775915 wrote:I was more feeling pity for you, since, as someone who is not a poor person, I don't look at wasting $2 or $4 as anything to even blink my eyes over.
