    5 numbers without powerball= $1million
    4 numbers with powerball= $50,000
    4 numbers no powerball=$100
    What's wrong with it?

    How about this one:

    Powerball only - $4
Powerball and one number - $4

Yeah, I scratched my head at that one.

Seems low when looking at other games prizes with similar odds.

    It's up to 1.4

there will be dozens if not a hundred winners on this one. Some large group of pooled numbers will win it.

Not even remotely close to happening.

    Dodgeball and statistics don't mix

Would be around a 1 in 2.4B chance of there being 12 winners.

I don't believe there is enough data available to do that math.

Probably right, I just took the odds of 1 person winning and multiplied it by 12

    Solid math.

Crazy that 28 people almost won on Saturday. They all missed the Powerball (13).

    That'd be somewhat irritating.

As much as that would suck, if it happened to me, I'd feel better after I realized I still won $1 million.

Now up to $1,500,000,000. $930,000,000 lump sum. Eventually this could become serious money.

I just find it really interesting that none of them had 13 as the powerball number. Maybe the majority of the 28 did autopick because I feel like 13 is a top 5 number chosen for powerball.

But yeah I'm with sherm... it would suck at first knowing you missed that but I'd still be pretty happy about 1 or 2 million (depending on if you did the powerplay).

Spent $19 on the 14 seconds of joy checking to see if I hit

That is pretty surprising, considering there's only 26 powerballs - 67% chance at least 1 would have hit.

I couldn't be too upset winning $1M, but that would be awfully disappointing to come that close to being uber-rich. If anyone actually watches live, the excitement and then crushing disappointment on that last ball....wow.

And I'd have to take the $1M because it's too much to risk, but think about those game shows - almost a 4% chance of winning $450M pre-tax or whatever, so would you let the $1M "ride" given that choice?

Not a chance in hell. $1mm would allow me to be out of debt and live life the way I want. That's all I really need.
