You're a failure

Ironman92What things are you a failure at doing?
Me: anything a handyman might do, I suck at fixing and assembly of most things.
Wrapping presents or things that involve using scissors.
Having patience with other drivers -

TiernanI suck at failing. In anything. I'm pretty much awesome in everything. It's a burden I somehow manage to live with everyday.

sleeperI'm pretty bad at transitioning women from dating to a relationship, especially on the East coast. Women here are much different than the Midwest.

HereticThe handyman thing for me, too. I either can't do it, can't do it as well as a more skilled person could or can do it as well, but it'd take twice as long or so.

I had a deer run into my passenger door a couple weeks ago when we had all of the fog. Pushed my mirror in.
Could have tagged it for ya... -

What I've learned about "handyman" things, is that it just takes the slightest bit of self confidence, and the willingness to actually just give it a try. Most things are not too hard if you're just willing to give it a shot.Heretic;1770348 wrote:The handyman thing for me, too. -

This probably applies to the anxiety thread, but I feel like there was some type of event or series of events that his making it hard for you to shake the anxiety.sportchampps;1770322 wrote:Ugh Most everything right now -
like_thatAs for the handyman thing, I have found watching youtube videos has worked for my handyman repairs. Luckily I am renting now, so if i fuck up, I can just have the landlord send somebody. I wish I learned how to be handy growing up though. It's crazy how more and more people rely on paying for services instead of learning themselves.

Laley23Never did anything handyman until I bought a house. So far have mounted 2 TV, run cables through drywall out to outlets, took down a fan, hung a light and rehung the fan in another room, installed some new shutters/blinds and hung new crap (i.e. Different brand/color than what was there) the wife wanted in the bathroom...which included patching the old holes in drywall.
Had no clue going in how to do any of it. Had a buddy help with the light, but it's simple. Everything was easy to figure out on he internet, then just have to make sure you don't skip a step. -

I have youtube'd a couple of things recently. I am better than I used to be. I also find that if I have the right mindset that I have a lot more patience and am more functional at fixing/assembly. But I'm still terrible.like_that;1770382 wrote:As for the handyman thing, I have found watching youtube videos has worked for my handyman repairs. friendfromlowrySleeping. I work night shift three nights a week so the other four nights I go to bed around 1-2am, wake up between 5-6am, can't go back to sleep. Usually nap later in the morning or afternoon. My wife has same schedule and doesn't struggle like I do, but it doesn't help we have a 16 month old.

TiernanI sleep like sedimentary rock Lowry. Bet that chaps your ass doesn't it?
