Zuckerberg wasn't on an Ohio Sports forum asking how to generate profit on a mobile app. And his idea wasn't even original, just better executed; which was my entire point.

I know what they are I"m not any of those social media sites.

I know little about the backend of how this social media produces profit and who take what % cut from it. On the two website that I have for business once the online sale is completed ... % is taken Authorized, % is taken from transaction shopping cart processing company and a % from the Bank all based on sales volume but then there is the yearly/monthly cost of the website etc etc.... so in the end each sale has (?) percentage take out. As of Advertisement and how that is broken down and who dips into that profit share and who controls the % taken … clueless.

There is a lot of hidden fees …

My idea has nothing to do with ammo, weapons, grammar, spell, cooking .... the idea has a very large audience that continues to generate more potential users and secondary users. More that half of the user base does not know this is available. Is it world changing no but is it a viable useful idea… so far I think so and that all that matters…. That called being an entrepreneur

    Hope this helps

Only 2% of their players purchase anything but they make enough money to support everything else. (The company has a 4 story building and at least 100 employees) That blows my mind that 2% of the players support the rest.
South Park had an episode on that a couple years ago. That's the IAP/FTP plan. Most people will just do what they can for free and abandon the app if things get to the point where you have to pay. The minority of people will go crazy, though, and spend, spend, spend, so they essentially pick up the slack for everyone who uses it.

Or that thing he talks about from time to time on the fitness thread where his innovative techniques with drinking water will do more for anyone than anything they actually are doing.

Well if you want the help of anyone with a brain, you're going to have to share your general idea otherwise I cannot even begin to tell you how to monetize it. You don't have to share the "secret sauce" if you are that paranoid, but a general description would be useful to answer your questions.

whatever the app is, there's a good chance that it already exists. if you weren't paranoid/stupid you could run generic search queries on itunes and probably get a decent idea if someone has tried it.

however, that would require you to run queries that are spelled correctly with proper syntax so you might as well not bother.

Some of the major ones include:
    1) Charge a one-time to buy the app
    2) Subscription to the App(yearly, monthly etc.)
    3) Free App; has ads
    4) Free App; has in app purchases
    5) Free App; has a basic free version and a paid premium version
    There are also:

    6) Harvest data and market to it, and
    7) Harvest data and sell it.

Actually they did, and they became very wealthy after suing him.
