High school reunions

Went to 5, wont be able to attend 10.

90% of my class I was 4-12 or more with (10 of us were K-12 together). I wasnt necessarily best friends with all of them (though my 2 best guy friends and best girl friend all were K-12 together) but we were all linked together somehow and I can count on 1 hand the people I didnt have a memorable moment with growing up.

That said, I only keep in touch with about 7 of them regularly, so getting see the rest is always a good time. We were WAY to small of a school to have true cliques. We graduated 39 people (30 of which were together for 6+ years), so everyone, at some point, spent quality 1-1 time with each other over the years. In some form, we were all friends.

i was in the boat that most of you are in now. hated high school and most of the people who went there. thought it was lame and didn't want to go. My wife went (we were HS sweethearts) and would have dragged me but I was working in ND. I wish i had gone. Not because it was so fun (my wife said it was a bit lame), or because the company would have been good, its just a reason to go home. I get to see the MOV maybe 1 time per year 2 in a really good year. I truly miss that shit hole. I miss the farms, the familiar scenery, the smells, the seasons (Houston has 3 seasons, Summer, July, and August), and all the slowed down, small town shit that i got to do as a kid.

Sounds like a lot of anti-social dweebs that never played sports or were involved in any clubs or activities, which explains quite a bit about the caliber of sports knowledge on this site. I on the other hand had a great time in HS playing sports and have been to a number of reunions and had a blast.

I didn't attend the five year reunion and from what I heard it was a flop, but people seem interested in the ten year. I actually couldn't care less. With social media, I can keep in touch with anyone I want to already. I've always wondered if there's less interest in reunions with the emergence of social media.

Did you go to any of your reunions? Do you plan to?
You nailed it about social media. Reunions are a dying tradition.

We had 175 golfers and guests at a 3 class reunion that also raised $33K for charity while we were at it in July. But of course most of my former classmates are top corp executives, doctors, partnered attorneys or own their own businesses. We're not a bunch of clod kickers from West Buttphuk like it sounds most of you are or worse you're from Steubenville.

    Didn't have a 5 year. Didn't go to 10 year. Didn't go to 20. Won't go to 25 if we have one.

175 incredibly wealthy/successful people and averaged less than $200 per person for charity. What a bunch of cheap drunk losers.

We haven't had a reunion yet. I lived with a HS classmate in college, and we contacted the class president to tell her we'd help with our 5 year. Never heard back from her, and she never planned anything. She also never planned anything for our 10 year. Some people tried to organize one on Facebook, but it's never going to work if you try to get 30-40 people to agree on a date and idea. Someone just needs to pick a date and say this is what we are doing. Attend if you can, but if you can't oh well. We'll see if it happens for the 15 year in 2018.

I'm from a super small town, and graduated with 51 other people. I see about half of them every year at our hometown festival. I am still good friends with about 4 of my classmates and we talk all the time. I see about 3 or 4 more several times/year at Browns games, etc. It's easy to stay in touch with people you like/care about. Still, I think it would be nice to at least have one reunion.

Mine was back in 2012. Didn't go. Didn't wish I had. I'm sure it would have been fine, but it's not a huge importance to me.

Yeah we're losers because we tie a reunion in with raising money for mentally & physically challenged kids...get over yourselves for trying to denigrate me and the great effort my classmates have done for these kids.

Another lie by the lying drunk deadbeat pos. Not surprised tearnan would be all about hs reunions though. The only thing the little guy has going for him is reliving his hs days. That's when being a drunk deadbeat was considered funny I guess.

...I had an exceptional class (400+ w/no clicks) that looks for reasons to get together to enjoy each others company. I missed the 5 year but now look forward to catching up with old friends and have actually become closer to those that I wasn't close to in HS.
