Worst. Week. Ever.
-
GoChiefsMoved into our new home last Wednesday. Then just 4 nights later, after remodeling the home for the last few months, we had a house fire. Tuesday, I broke the rear window out of my truck. Thursday, had to deal with our previous bitch landlord because she refused to give us our deposit back. Then tonight, while leaving from the Garth Brooks concert, some bitch ran into my car. So here I sit, waiting on the police to show up. This has had to have been the worst fucking week of my life.

Belly35Few things to point out
making bottle bombs in your house is never a good idea
your truck will look like 90% of all the other trucks in Massillon with plastic windows
slum lords never give back deposits
your car now will look like 90% of all the other cars in Massillon -

It was a defective range we bought.Belly35;1756516 wrote:making bottle bombs in your house is never a good idea
It's a work truck, so don't really care what it looks like. I moved out of Massillon into Perry Township a couple years ago.Belly35;1756516 wrote:your truck will look like 90% of all the other trucks in Massillon with plastic windows
Wasn't a slumlord. It was my mother in laws best friend of 50 years.Belly35;1756516 wrote:slum lords never give back deposits
Just scratched the headlight and parking light. Still looks better than 95% of all the other cars in Massillon.Belly35;1756516 wrote:your car now will look like 90% of all the other cars in Massillon -

Fire damage wasn't bad. We caught it soon after it started, but smoke was what did most of the damage. $15k in damages to the home, not sure about the contents yet. It wasn't the contractors fault, they believe it was a manufacturer defect. This is the 7th one they have seen in the last six months or so I guess.j_crazy;1756548 wrote:any word on how bad the damage on the house was or what caused the fire? any chance of holding a contractor liable for the damage of the house fire? -

If a contractors piss poor job was to burn down your home, you sure as fuck would sue if you could.Uz2Bon36;1756552 wrote:The American way. Blame others and sue them. -

right? your initial post made it unclear if YOU did the work or you contracted it out. The way building codes work, if i did some electrical work on my own home that wasn't up to code i'd be on the hook for the damage if it burnt up my house. If i hired a licensed and bonded electrician to do the work and it burnt up my house, i'd not hesitate to go after him, assuming his work was found to be the cause.GoChiefs;1756568 wrote:If a contractors piss poor job was to burn down your home, you sure as fuck would sue if you could.
