Pretty sad/depressing when you land on the Serious Business thread, and of the 19 new threads... 2 of them are "Moved:" and 6 of them are "Best and Worst..." started by the same poster. This is no slant at Belly, because I give Belly all the credit in the world for TRYING to keep this place somewhat entertaining, but the simple fact is the Trolls have ruined this place and it's been on life-support for quite some time now, and I feel like all these stagnant "Best and Worst of's" are perfect examples. Such a shame...
Normally I'd say I could give 2 sh!ts, but ElevenWarriors has damn near ruined their site too now by hiding comments and requiring users to click "Show All Comments". That place has become quite annoying as well now. -

The biggest draw of JJ and this place was the ST/I and the Serious Business. But, now with Twitter, and the fact the majority of us are now in our late 20s or older and not early 20s anymore, we dont come here for breaking news.
I have never really been bothered by trolls or lack of users, however, I have about 1/3 of the amount of time I used to have for online forums. Maybe less. Im pretty much on here late at night, or when I am traveling and have a layover/delay/whatever. Very rarely do I have time to be online from 10am-2am like I used to. -

Fly4Fly ran quite a few posters off coupled with his ridiculously idiotic modding, and no oversight from Justin. That coupled with twitter/everyone growing up etc... explains the site traffic being down. We need more early 20s/older ppl whose kids are out of the house to sign up to keep traffic going. -

Heretic is spot on. This forum was divided between the easily butt hurt (i.e. cry4fail) and people who like to fuck with other people/dont let the feelz get in the way like me. I think the vote to take down cry4fail did it in. Justin most likely thought it would be a landslide win for cry4fail, but unfortunately it wasnt. I recall over 60 posters voting in that poll and the "feelz dont get hurt easily" people took it by 3-4 votes. After that vote the hurt feelz crew slowly disappeared, because they no longer had cry4fail over stepping his boundaries and targeting people. The exact opposite would have happened if cry4fail remained a mod (cry4fail already drove off good posters). In fact we had a group of 18+ posters who were ready to boycott.
Take that event and add in the other reasons already stated here (forums are dying, we are getting older, etc) and this is what we have. I still enjoy it though, because i never took it too seriously. The ones who left took the OC as seriously as their lives. I will be here until the site officially goes down. -

Also, I never really used the OC or JJ Huddle for my news. I used it to discuss the news. I would still take the discussion here over any comments section on any media source. If we think our threads are a shit show, just read the comments to ESPN articles.

For those who are fans of The Wire, the OC was like Hamsterdam when it first started. Nobody had to worry about JJ's policing and it was a organized shit show. Then ad sense got ahold of it and the OC was forced to send idiots like cry4fail juke the stats.
