AutomatikDid anyone watch last night? I thought it was solid documentary, very interesting.
-
OSHI wish I could. Always interested in these things.
-
sportchamppsWhat's it about? When the church of Scientology documentary come out.
-
AutomatikIt's based on the book.
Here's the trailer

It's also the biggest tax shelter of all time. I'm hoping the IRS revisits the case and comes down hard this time. -
gutI watched for like half an hour....LMAO at the guy describing Level 4 Thetan or whatever (the story about aliens and all the super crazy shit) - "I was like WTF is this a joke?"
-
justincredibleA religion created by a science fiction writer. I cannot fathom the leaps in logic it would take to fall for that shit. I will definitely be checking this out at some point.
-
SportsAndLadyWatching now. These people are fucking loony bins
-
AutomatikI've been reading up on "The Hole".
That place is fuckedddd up. -
Fab4RunnerI ordered the book, which should be here tomorrow. I am looking forward to reading it.
-
Dr Winston O'BoogieI read the book and then watched the show. It is funny, but also very sad for the people raised inside of it that know nothing else. Tom Cruise has basically used slave labor to do his bidding. The Hollywood set can do and spend money on what they want. But when it involves other people's lives being ruined, it is wrong. The guy in charge - Miscavige - is the personification of a Napoleon Complex.
-
rydawg5I fell asleep 2 different times watching this.
I think Dianetics was a brilliant idea to create a following, unfortunately the next parts were a mess for Mr. Hubbard. Well, not so unfortunate since Scientology is still doing quite well. -
SportsAndLadyNo idea how Scientology is still allowed to exist. Miscavige should be put in jail. They're no different than the nazi's minus the wiping out of a race. Sick bastards.
Auto I also read up on the hole...shits messed up -
Dr Winston O'Boogie
Man, the IRS screwed up by giving Scientology religious protection. THat's the entire crux of the matter and what has allowed Miscavige to amass billions of dollars. He and Tom Cruise ought to be put in jail.SportsAndLady;1718119 wrote:No idea how Scientology is still allowed to exist. Miscavige should be put in jail. AutomatikJust a place where some weirdo cult shit goes down. Higher ups are housed there, slave workers, random fucked up stuff....
Also where they house members who reveal "impure thoughts" during auditing sessions.

It's basically prison for scientologists. You go there when you are experiencing doubt about the "religion" or if you did something to upset the executives.like_that;1718177 wrote:What is the hole?
It's a string of office buildings in California and you sleep 6 inches from each other and stay inside for days at a time doing horrible shit. -
AutomatikDid you read about Miscavage's wife? Where the hell is she?! A and wtf did she do to get there?!
-
justincredibleI didn't know Leah Remini was a longtime Scientologist. Her mom was big into it when she was a kid so she was kinda forced in to it. The more I read the more ridiculous this whole "religion" becomes.

sleeperI support Scientology and the right for those to believe in Scientology. It has the same intellectual and factual basis as any other religion.
-
iclfan2You're just trolling now. If nothing else, Christianity is rooted in history and over 2,000 years old. Scientology is less than 100 years old and was written by a kook who writer sci fi cartoons. That documentary was insane, and anyone who believes in it is a freak

Both written by kooks. -
Dr Winston O'Boogie
A guy made an interesting point in the documentary. Ask a mainline Christian or Jew what the main tenants of their faith are and they can probably explain them to you in less than a minute. However with Scientology, you have to keep paying heaps of money to get to the next level and find out the next secret. It's a classic bait and switch.sleeper;1718312 wrote:I support Scientology and the right for those to believe in Scientology. It has the same intellectual and factual basis as any other religion.
