Church League Flag Football Sandbagging
-
Dr. KnOiTaLLPlayed in a game of flag football for a church league today against another local church team. Everyone on our roster is from the church and legitimately attends, but the team we played today, no lie, had an African American wide receiver who played for Louisville and also spent a short time in the NFL. Now, I'm all for competing and putting your best product on the field, but this fella certainly does not go to the other church. He's still only 28, so I think he gave up his NFL dream, but he could still fly. Luckily, even in my old age, I used intelligence to limit him to 3 catches for about 40 total yards, but it still kind of irritated me that a team would get a guy like that in a "friendly" church league.

Totally uncool for you to question if he attends the other church.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1717174 wrote:Certainly, but still not the main question. Cool or uncool? -

Perhaps this was his way of taking it easy on you guys since it was just a church league.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1717158 wrote:. Luckily, even in my old age, I used intelligence to limit him to 3 catches for about 40 total yards, -

This. Or the other QB was absolutely terrible.friendfromlowry;1717177 wrote:Perhaps this was his way of taking it easy on you guys since it was just a church league. -
RotinajMaybe he was visiting a friend or family in the area who attends, or is dating someone who goes there and they asked him if he wanted to play some flag football? I highly doubt the church is bringing in former nfl players to win at flag football.

SonofanumpMaybe he is looking to improve so he can join the Cincinnati Commandos next year.

I am sure you are very athletic but if he had only 3 catches for 40 yards on you I see why he is not still in the NFL.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1717158 wrote:Played in a game of flag football for a church league today against another local church team. Fly4FunSo Dr.KnOiTaLL used his superior intellect to thwart the evil plots of the rival church who brought in a ringer to win flag football.
Cool story bro. -
Dr. KnOiTaLL
Yeah, certainly didn't have great hands, and from what I could see wasn't a great route runner. So I mostly just sat 10 yards deep on him and back-peddled at the snap. Their QB wasn't great either, so they missed a couple opportunities where he broke loose.rrfan;1717192 wrote:I am sure you are very athletic but if he had only 3 catches for 40 yards on you I see why he is not still in the NFL. -

Classyposter58Dude I've played pickup hockey games with people who played or currently play D1 hockey this year. I'm saying this cause they were maybe giving 50% effort and still owning. I guarantee if this guy went full go he would have destroyed your team
