Local finest dining restaurant, in your area

  • Belly35
Been to the worst now let's talk about the finest dining restaurant in your general area.
I'm little old school, traditional, historical so Bender downtown get the edge over Gervasi Vineyard
many great local restaurant have faded away over the years but Benders is still there.

Bestest wings in our area would be McSobers Saloon and Dutch Mill.
Best retaurant would be CTown wings in Celina. Fantastic wood fire burgers, steaks and this one of the few places that the chunks are as good/better than the wings.

    I can't just limit this to 1 so I'm going with 3

    Cincinnati

The Eagle - Best fried chicken I've ever had and the cornbread is amazing. My favorite restaurant to go to.
Nada - Guacamole and Queso are delicious, and the main meals are very good
Arthur's - Zip's and Terry's Turf Club are usually the top listed burger places in Cincinnati, but Arthur's is my favorite.

    Mancy's is still phenomenal.

In the Akron area, my some of my faves are Lockview, Bricco, Moe's, Edgar's, Beau's, Mr. Zub's. Really just depends on what I am in the mood for.

    Raleigh:

The Pit - Best BBQ around. Chopped Pork is phenomenal
Angus Barn - Only been twice, but great steaks. Some say its famous on name only, but I have had 2 great meals

RE: burger places, have you been to Gordo's in Norwood? And yes, The Eagle is awesome. It barely lost to Eli's on my list.

OKay, I am not even near Toledo. Maybe you quoted the wrong person.

Justin....someone just told me about Eli's this weekend and said it was great. He may have mentioned Gordo's as well. Is that place very small and a line forms a half hour before it opens?

I've been to Gordo's once I believe. Don't really remember it so will have to go back. Guess that means I thought it was good but not amazing, haha.

Gervasi, Lucia's and Bender's in Canton. I'm not going to try and rank or separate them. They are all excellent in their own unique way.

I like D'Agnese's in Akron. Austin's in Brecksville.

Dante in Tremont. Michael Symon's Lola on E.4th. and Lolita in Tremont. Fat Cats in Tremont. In case you haven't figured it out, the Tremont area is loaded with great places to eat.

In Columbus it's easily The Refractory. It's ranked in the top 15 most romantic restaurants in the nation. Great Food

Reading these threads have made me realize there aren't enough people from Cle/Akron on here.

Akron- The Lockview, Nuevo Mod Mex (newer Mexican joint downtown, if you haven't been I recommend), and Mr. Zubs.

Cleveland- There are a lot more than I'll list. Still don't have a lot of exposure here, as I still live near Akron and only venture for lunch downtown, but I'll throw in Momocho (Ohio City), Town Hall (Ohio City), L'Albatros (University Circle), Barrio (Lakewood, Tremont, and now downtown). I'm sure there are others downtown worth mentioning, but a lot of it has become mundane to me TBH.

Youngstown- The Upstairs (Austintown) and Vernons (Niles) for dinner. V2 (same owner as Vernon's) downtown for lunch, MVR (downtown) not so much for the food, but for the cool hometown feel.

Huntington....Fat Patty's, small college joint with good prices, huge portions and great food

Is Rowdy's what is in the old JR Valentine's building? I've been wanting to try it, but always seem to think about it in days they aren't open.

Chillicothe is a town full of chain restaurants. Our best local joint is probably the Old Canal Smokehouse. A couple other local favorites are far from fine dining, but Carl's Townhouse(burgers) and Jerry's Pizza are really good.

Not sure what qualifies as "fine dining". I don't really think there is any "fine dining" in the immediate area.

My wife and I enjoy going to Trusty Woods in town. To quote Tracy Jones "it is what it is". A family owned restaurant with home cooked style meals, I wouldn't really call it fine dining.

I like Beer Barrel, but my wife doesn't. To me, it's a place to go watch sports and have some good pizza-again, not really fine dining.

Yeah, been there a couple years

    Old Canal is pretty solid.
