  Jackson about 6,500 people....1 hr 15 min from Columbus and 1 hr 35 from Cincy.
  
  I don't like big city traffic but could live on the outskirts 10-20 miles away.

  When we lived in Lawrence Kansas it felt perfect. It was a mix between Columbus and Athens OH. I think it was over 100k when school was in session.

  What some people don't seem to be factoring in is that generally by living in a big city, you don't really deal with the traffic. You generally live close to where you work and can take public transportation, or drive city streets to where you need to go. It's the people that live 10-20 miles away that drive in from the burbs that get drilled by traffic.
  
  When I've lived in big cities I rarely even drove my car because I could walk. ride a bike, or take public transportation most of the time.

  Lots of truth to that. I just know when I visit people in columbus and we go to do something fun it is almost always a 20+minute commute to get there.
  and then you have to find a place to park and pay for it. HATE paying for parking.

  Then never move to California. Everywhere it's meters and they are expensive. .25 gets you 7 minutes.

  Mixed feelings. I enjoy going back home, but after about a weekend I'm ready to get back to NEO. Grew up in a town of 400. 2 hrs from Pitt and Columbus. Don't want to live in the city my whole life, but def want to stay within reasonable distance like others have said.

  I need a city. I can do a suburb, but there has to be a city of 250k+ (preferably over 300k) near by. Suburb I would like to be 20k+.

  Big city traffic is just that....nothing in the small town is similar.

  I couldn't do the suburbs. I'd rather live in Chicago than a place like West Chester or Dublin.

  I grew up in one, so I have never hated them the way some do. I appreciate the fact that there is everything you need without having to drive 40 minutes. Yet, you dont deal with the bad side of city life.
  
  That said, Id much prefer to be in the actual city...at least before kids.

  Other than that month I spent in the Mojave, I did spend a week in San Diego/Coronado but didnt really have to worry much about the parking. Rather enjoyed the city

  I would love to move back to Logan. Canton is too damn big for my liking.

  Noticed they now have a Walmart. Years ago wasn't the dynamite place for coal mining one of the largest employers in the area? What else is around there?
  
  I attended the Jackson County fair once so I got that going for me, which is nice.

  not sure about the coal? It was big with iron furnaces.... Had a Walmart since about 1988.
  
  Schools have great facilities and while it's terrible we have the largest ponderosa in the United States lol
  
  Also have Michael's Ice Cream which has been around since 1909 and was the first job of longest running Governor in Ohio History (James A Rhodes)....they are famous for their roasted peanuts from their original peanut roaster from the early 1900's and of course the "Bubble"
  
  
  
  The Jackson Co fair is maybe the worst thing in Jackson County.
