WallyI'm really frustrated with my lawn. A few years ago, it was pretty good. Then the town replaced the street in front of my house and put a sidewalk in. Everybody said "You'll love the sidewalk and it will increase your value". So during the construction of the street the level of my yard needed changed. They put dirt back in that was the crappiest, rockiest, most clay filled dirt possible, then came along and sprayed grass seed over it. So for 2 years, I had nothing but weeds growing in the front yard. I don't know if I can ever kill all the weeds…..they seem pretty hardy. Then there is my back yard…..it was pretty nice too before the redneck moved in behind me. He did a bunch of work in his back yard that abuts to mine (cut down a nice big tree and had concrete poured for a back patio-tore the yard up pretty good).....his yard is full of weeds and he does nothing about it so they are creeping into my yard. I should just wave the white flag and let them take over. In August the morning glory takes over anyways…..

Man that sucks! Depending on the size of that front ya may want to till under and replant. Similar happened to me when I redid my driveway and about 8" each side of it I had to replant. Used shitty dirt and seed and the weeds were terrible.Wally;1724312 wrote:I'm really frustrated with my lawn. A few years ago, it was pretty good. Just a terrible thing that happened to Josie. Very nice, sweet girl!
Probably gonna be a huge crowd. I hope we can at least be competitive. -

thavoiceAnyone getting their gardens in yet? WIll likely start next week or so planting.
I was wondering if my yard was looking as good as I wanted and was alittle disappointed....until I mowed the neighbors yard last night with mine. Wow....talk about night and day! -
WallyDid a little digging in the garden. Nothing planted yet-that's the wife's job.

YtowngirlinflaPlanted my garden weeks ago. But I always start with cold weather crops with radishes, carrots and I also started my beans. I start my tomatoes and peppers indoors. I'm hardening them off now. Should be planted by this weekend.

sportchamppsFinally got some tree stumps removed today. I also put weed and feed down. This weekend I'm going to take the chainsaw out and cut down 5-6 trees. Most of them are easy enough that I should just be able to push them into the woods. One of them I will have to rope up and bring down into the back yard then cut it into smaller pieces. After that I'm going to get a truckload of topsoil and put some grass seed down.
