Meatballs

I’m a very good cook and enjoy make different ethic foods, Italian is not my favor dishes to make so I cheat on meatballs.
I have found a great little place where I buy great meatballs… Dioguardi Italian Deli, just down the street. I also get a few other items like genoe hard salami and prosciutto

Where do you go to get your meatballs or do you make them?

Nothing fancy but we buy the small frozen ones....put them in a big crockpot and use 1 jar of chili sauce, a small jar of grape jelly and a table spoon of brown sugar.

    Insanely easy and very good.

Make them. Takes a while but it's way better than store bought.

I make them as well (turkey, beef, or lamb). I don't think it takes awhile at all.

Only time I make them is for large crowds so I make 8 lbs of meat. It takes awhile to roll.

Store bought meatballs? Must be a city thing.

Love making meatballs. A bit tedious but so worth it.

Homemade meatballs freeze well. My go to meatball mix is 2 parts chuck to 1 part ground pork and 1 part ground lamb. Season depending on the dish, a couple eggs depending on how much you make and some bread crumbs. Brown them up in your cast iron skillet and then cool and freeze. Then, use them just as you would store bought meatballs. Reheat them in a skillet and then add your go to red sauce. Slow cooker. Bake them and add them to Swedish Meatball gravy and put over egg noodles.

They won't keep as long as the store bought in the freezer. I wouldn't let them sit more than a couple months but they won't last that long because you will use them up.

(mass produced for the public and frozen) (made by the Italian owner, not frozen)

Make my own. Brown in skillet, then bake in oven using a water bath covered with foil.

Dom Tiberis recipe is really good. He's the sports guy on CH10 in columbus.
