  Currently for a Freshman to be eligible they must graduate HS with a minimum 2.000 core GPA and SAT score of 1010. As of 2016 that becomes a minimum 2.300 core GPA and 900 SAT. Over 40% of current incoming football players fall between 2.0 and 2.3 GPA's.

  Give 'Em another Rec and Leisure Time Sports class and be done with it. Football & Basketball players are there for my entertainment and development dollar, if a kid on full ride can't figure out how to get a degree out if that gift horse he's too damn dumb to function in society anyway and should go back to the ghetto.

  Ncaa doesn't want to be a 2 year babysitter for NBA ready players. Think about the headaches of staffs trying to keep kids happy during 2 years when these kids know they are destined for millions! I wouldn't want the job of baby sitting them either. Someone needs to bust the Nfl and Nba players union on this age issue!

  I think the rule should be simple.
  College recruit a high school student, the student has one year of college play and classes room eligible grades, has to make a commitment for the next two years to stay in college an play, go to classes, transferring add one year (3) now. No professional team can recruit or draft those players... If student drops out of college the no draft rule still applies for two years.
  Side note however college athlete should be paid no more that $1200.00 per month beyond the scholarship, books, room and board based on team depth chart.

  The colleges have no power to a set a rule determining when a pro league can draft players.

  correct but if the student signs a contract the Pro would have to buy out the contract from the College or the student would / could be sued..
  This way the college recops it investment in a player and providing additional funds for new scholarships.
