Question for Chicks...50 Shades of Grey*
-
TiernanSo FB is blowing up over whether 50 Shades is degrading to women and promotes domestic violence to women. Now I didn't read the book or see the flick but unless you live in an igloo with no power you can't help know what this story is about. And from what I do know it certainly is not about domestic violence and whether its degrading to women is a personal choice for the women involved in the activity.
*actually this is just a thread to piss off whatever idiot mod banned me from the first one. Enjoy mofo. -
thavoiceIn my area the theatre in the past has at times not played more risque films.
But they have this one the weekend it opens, yet still hasnt had American Sniper.... -
Old RiderMy wife just finished the books and now wants to go see the movie. I don't know anything about the movie/books, but she showed me the trailer and I saw some porn-like scenes that looked good! Hoping my wife goes to see the movie with her friends and I have her tied up later that night smacking dat ass!!
Degrading to women...who gives a shit. Porn has been around for a LONG time!! -
Fab4RunnerI do not find it degrading to women at all.

Scarlet_BuckeyeWhat kills me is... Fifty Shades of Grey is the fastest selling paperback of all time. Yet plenty of women have acknowledged it's a poorly written book. So one could logically conclude that no one is buying it for it's spectacular writing; rather, women bought this book because they enjoy(ed) the eroticism of this book.
So... that leads me to my point...
If so many women flocked to read this book - presumably because they enjoy the eroticism & sensationalism of the book - then WTF are women so prudish about the acts described in the book, why are women saying it's "demeaning" (Why would women flock to read a demeaning book/story?!), etc.
It's like that god awful channel - Lifetime. Women flock to that shit just to watch how miserable other women's lives are, and then get off on it. Like wtf. I never understood why women like to watch shows about women getting physically beat (not in a sexual way, like literally getting beat) and degraded. Women just seem to eat that shit up.
Women talk about how "controlling" Christian Grey was, etc. Yet Grey clearly tells Annastasia the great thing about being in a Dom-Sub role is the sub actually owns all the control. The sub sets the limits. So how the f*** is Grey "controlling"?! If anything, he's overbearing with his love/affection for Annastasia, which... wouldn't any girl/women want (i.e., to be loved)?
The moral of the story/book/this post is... women are f****** crazy, yo. -

Misery loves company. They like to watch that lifetime channel and that shit to commiserate together about all of their so called heartbreak!Scarlet_Buckeye;1706012 wrote:What kills me is... I don't know any women who are prudish about the book or movie, nor any who think it's degrading.Scarlet_Buckeye;1706012 wrote:What kills me is... power iThere's a big difference between domestic violence and a little smack-ass. I have seen a few women on FB who think this movie is just horrible, but haven't seen it or read the book. I read the book and it really did nothing for me, and I have no desire to see the movie. To each his (or her) own.

friendfromlowryI'm not friends with any idiots on Facebook who are over-analyzing the book/movie. Hope this helps.

Women have been reading trashy romance novels since the beginning of time....that a book is 'poorly written' has never stopped them, any more than a cheesy porn flick turns off guys. What kills me is... TiernanHa ha I started this thread just to be a wanker and now we're having an actual debate over Women's rights and behaviors.

I love it when the Akron Ho jumps in with the smack talk. Sooner or later she might even post something slightly humorous.Fab4Runner;1706294 wrote:I see what you did there...original. -

Most people would wager that will happen LONG before you post something remotely humorous.Tiernan;1706387 wrote:I love it when the Akron Ho jumps in with the smack talk. Sooner or later she might even post something slightly humorous. -
