SNL 40th

I'd guess it's because they're the "young, hip" artists for today and SNL is a show that generally is remembered for being excellent in the past and not close to that today. So you mix the great of yesterday and the hip of today and hope for the best.

The Californians SUCKED...especially Taylor Swift (she just needs to get naked already)....Kanye is a worthless POS...
    Miley is just worthless...

The rest of the show was pretty good though!

Agreed. I kept flipping it to another channel during that skit and seemed like it kept going on and on....

Disappointed in the Murphy thing.....he talks for a couple of minutes....but not montage of his best skits? Come on!!!!!!!

I thought Miley was really good last night and I'm not a fan of hers. Her vocals were better then a lot of performers latly like Taylor Swift.

I don't care about seeing her naked. She doesn't do anything for me (I'd look though).

You can bet Kanye somehow lobbied to get on the show after yet another Grammy PR disaster. Unless you just enjoy shitty music (and obviously millions of idiots do) this Thugger is the king of no talent. Cyrus chooses to sing a Pual Simon tune while Paul is there? Why didn't he sing it? Overall it was good but coulda been so much better if I'd been in charge .

She has that nasally voice, or something like that, that is unique for some songs. She wasnt bad on most of that song. See where she is going for the dyke look these days. Just thought they could have gotten someone better, but I imagine they added her to maybe go after a certain demographic.

Paul McCartney was unnecessary as well and that's one of my all time favorite songs. He doesn't have the vocals anymore.

I'm only half way through, but besides The Californians it was definitely worth the watch.

For a 72 year old guy, he sounds pretty good though.

Love his music, respect him...don't wanna hear him singing at 72 just like I don't wanna see Cindy at 49

That was the worst I've heard Paul sing. I saw him 2-3 years ago and even his sound check and he sounded great. I was thinking about seeing him again in June but that worries me

    I enjoyed the show.

I was 22 when the first season aired.

Question: Why is Fred Armison put in bands? I don't think he is very funny, either.

    I liked most of it.

I went back and listened to it again and it wasn't good. I guess they wanted an icon on the anniversary show. Paul's voice held out for a long time, but it isn't good to see him sounding like this.

And his eye lids looked as big as window shades.

I agree BR - Armison has to have naked pics of Lorne with a young boy is all I can figure, guy is a no talent unfunny douche.

So he is the second coming of Jimmy Fallon?

I liked the show. Celebrity Jeopardy is probably my all time favorite, so I was excited to see that. What did everyone else think of Weekend Update? Although you can't duplicate a legend, I thought Melissa McCarthy's Matt Foley was funny.

Oh, and the Andy Samberg Adam Sandler "Break" song was pretty good. I'm glad they poked fun at Jimmy Fallon and Horatio Sanz though; those bastards did it ALL THE TIME.

That was probably my favorite part other than Celebrity Jeopardy. I LOVED when Fallon lost it during a skit.

My guess is this is SNL's way of thanking them for providing so much material over the years!

Jimmy Fallon is probably the most talented all around entertainer in the world today doofus.

When I was watching the Wayne and Garth skit, it struck me that Jimmy Fallon is a skinny faced version of Mike Meyers.

    BTW, I enjoyed that skit.
