My family watched Lawrence Welk. My brother and I watched mostly to make fun of our parents and the people on the show. My father and my brother and I watched Hee Haw and Mom watched it sometimes but not all of the time. My brother and I watched Soul Train as well as American Bandstand.

Only music show we would watch was Friday Night Video's. Late, late, late on Friday nights there would be a video show on for an hour we wouldwatch

Lawrence Welk was already done with its run in syndication before I was born. Hee Haw was doing re-runs, but we had more than 3 channels, so there was always something better on. And Soul Train sucked.

So I didn't watch any of those.

I remember when I was young, my parents were into Welk. I tended to immediately go to my room when it started. Even staring at walls for an hour was more entertaining.

Hee-Haw? No. Just no. Soul Train? I remember watching a newer version (I think) in college a couple times. Kind of fun when high, at least.
  • Old Rider
Soul Train was the best when Don Cornelius was the host....after that it fell off and wasn't as entertaining!
