# of cell phone

Forget the name of the first one I had, but it was either Motorola or LG phone... it was silver/gray... slim... and the key lights were bright iridescent blue.
Motorola Razr (worst phone I ever had; because of this phone I swore to never own another Motorola phone again)
I'm sure there were also a couple other flip phones in between that I'm probably forgetting...
    LG Voyager
    BlackBerry Storm (personal)
    BlackBerry Torch (work)
    iPhone 4s (personal)
    iPhone 4s (work)
    iPhone 6 (work)

I've had two. Probably got the first one around 2003 and it was a Nokia. I now have a iPhone 5s.

no clue how many cell phones i've had. I remember being the first or close to the first one in my class to have one in Jr High. I've always had the same number though.

Hence....they have not wanted to go the last two years, which is fine with me because taking 4-5 to a ballgame is expense. The rest...I have tried but when their mother is one of the worst culprits then well, it goes out the window.
the adults/parents have to be in agreement to the rules .. Or nothing works
soilution to set an example: my wife also is a big cell phone rule breaker
I made arrangement with a friend to call my wife when she is at church on Sunday morning and also when she at her women group. I reminder her to turn off her phone but when she not looking I turn it back on...
The fact that it is embarrassing and is rude... Send a message of just how rude a cell phone can be to others. Only had to have it happen once and the example is set and the agreement to the rules up held.

When I was younger I would secretly call my friend when we went to movies because he always forgot to turn off the ringer. GOT THAT FUCKER GOOD.
  • redrocket
I have made it this long without one and I don't plan on changing it now.
  • Rotinaj
What is your reasoning for not having one? being an adult and not having a cell phone doesn't really make much sense to me. Unless it's a money thing I guess but even then there are very cheap options.

Lol. I'd be telling you to fuck off about the Belly rule.

I have no issue with the rule in general. I have to abide by my parents rules when I am in their home. If I don't want to, I can leave. As far as outside of their house...no. They do not tell me what to do.

The fucked up part if that she turned her ringer off, and he turned it back on just to embarrass her in church. Wtf? She's not a child who needs to learn a lesson. And how does tricking her like that "teach" her anything? Cell phone going off at church does not equal her breaking the rules at dinner or a family event.

I like that rule. Have heard of people taking cell phones and putting them into a box when they have family get togethers.....or when you go out for dinner put them face down in the middle and the first one to play with their phone has to pay the bill. Both good ideas. 4.5 years ago I basically went 10+ weeks without one and was fine, and a couple of years ago when I was in the Mojave desert and practically had no service for 2.5 weeks and that worked out just fine. To my surprise though when I did get back into service that the Reds blew that 2 games to zero lead to the Giants that really pissed me off! How addicted some people are is just plain rediculous. I pretty much turn my phone off and/or it is out of reach when I get home from work each evening.

I got my first phone in 2003. No clue how many have I had in that time. I know I've tested 3 since September (Moto X, DROID Turbo, Nexus 6). I'd say I'm upwards of 20-25 phones between 2003 and now.

First phone was an LG 1200. Then upgraded to a Sanyo 8300 to get a phone with a camera. Rolled through a few others (Palm Treo 700, Palm Treo 755, Motorola Q, Blackberry Pearl, Blackberry 8300, Blackberry 8600), then some Nextel phones, original DROID, Defy, DROID Pro, DROID 3, DROID Bionic, DROID 4, Photon, Photon Q, RAZR, RAZR M, RAZR HD, original Moto X and a few others that I'm sure I'm forgetting.

It's one of the perks of the day job.

LG picture flip phone, LG White Chocolate, some samsung slide up phone, samsung keyboard phone, iPhone 4, iPhone 6. I can't get over how fast things changed when the iPhone came out, like you saw general improvements but things just exploded after the iPhone and now you have a phone vastly superior

    Thought he hated Apple???

I bought my first phone in 2002. Some piece of crap that I thought was awesome because you could switch the face of it, and I could preset the color of the screen when it would ring. Red was for work, green was for m'lady, and yellow was everyone else.

From there, it was a flip phone. Samsung of some sort. Then a Motorola - loved that phone. (I'm pretty sure I had the same phone number up to this point. 264-4627. I thought that was neat because the first three numbers were mirrored with the next three, and the seventh number was 7.)

Then I went with the iPhone 4, and then 5s. And that is where I am now.

I don't believe in needing the latest and greatest phone but they do provide some value.
