Better Call Saul Discussion Thread

Will not having seen BB take away enough from "Better Call Saul" that I can't watch?

I've seen a few episodes of BB but I wanted to tune in to the spinoff tonight.

Not sure how to know without seeing what the new series involves.

I'm guessing BB diehards will be able to formulate some sort of answer because they would have looked into the spinoff before today.

Don't know how many diehards are on here though.

I don't think so, as BCS is taking place before Walter White is even anything. Even before Saul changed his name to Saul.

Those who have watched BB will undoubtedly pick up on small little things, but the plot won't be revolved around Breaking Bad at all, so you should be fine.

I was wondering how many inside things would be involved in the series that would be missed.

    Answered my question perfectly, thanks!

From what i've read, you'll see some small parts from minor charatecters, but as those from above have said, it's set in the past so shouldn't show much in terms of spoilage......HOWEVER, I'm 99% sure the opening scene of this is gonna show what happened to Saul at the end of BB. Once WW disappears, they never show Saul again.

Vincent Gilligan(creator of BB) says you don't have to have seen Breaking Bad to enjoy BCS. The reviews have been mostly positive I can't wait.

    Many reps to you.

Pretty good show. We got a glimpse of what Saul is doing now in the opening.

Also a tie into BB at the end with Tuco.

I saw every episode of breaking bad. Not really sure how "Better Caul Saul" would be affected by seeing BB or not seeing BB.

Not sure what this is all about, but stop doing it.

To me it's one big flashback, like meeting Tuco, the white Cadillac next to his POS, the nail salon, and of course meeting Mike. To other's some Mexican just pulled a gun on him and he berated the cashier at the parking garage.

Yeah there was like 5 BB references in this episode. If you haven't seen BB you wouldn't really understand the reference but it wouldn't ruin the show or plot or anything. Hopefully that was just for the pilot episode and they focus on Saul going forward and not the BB storyline.

    Awesome episode tonight.

The first half of the episode was pure gold.

    "You're the worst lawyer ever"
"I took you from the death penalty to 6 months probation."

    I concur. I'm all in.
