Which is essentially "running up the score", as you're basically using a lesser opponent as a practice dummy.

You'd think that with your support of Graham and with how badly their best kids tend to outclass opponents up to and including the state level, that you'd know this, but....yeah.
What is your point? I do know this. You are not telling me anything new.
All I said is there is not a TF in basketball.

In a world where everyone gets a trophy for participating you might as well not keep score either. Don't want to hurt feelings after all.

This is utter bullshit. How do you teach kids how to work hard and achieve their goals if not through sports? Work hard, get better and win.

I'm too lazy to pull up the article again but I'm pretty positive it said he didn't do either of those in the second half. If he did, so what? It's high school basketball. The starters worked hard to play and shouldn't have to sit out >50% of the game because the other team is completely in over their heads.

In Ohio we have mercy rules in all kinds of sports. Heck football uses a running clock now.

They're talking about it in basketball. It exists in MI.

Normally I would agree. But pressing the entire first half to a 104-1 halftime lead. That is just pure classless bullshit.

    Worst rule ever.

I was reading some articles after I googled the game. Lots of press out there about it but couldn't find the actual game video. The guy should of been suspended more games. He is up 70-80 to nothing and still full court pressing.

I understand that its up to the other team to play harder but when you are up 50-0 you don't need to work on your press anymore. As a bball coach, there are other points of emphasis that you can do duing the game to get your girls the reps they need for future success.

Coach said he didn't play any starters in the second half. Other bits of "advice" he had to say, not play starters after 1st quarter, not play the game at all, or that he wouldn't do it again. Apparently, his team has won its previous four games by at least 70. His opponent had lost one earlier by 91. And...he didn't expect them to be "that bad?"

He served his one game suspension...and his son coached the victory, 80-19.

Should suspend him too. What a fucking joke. I hope the coach comes back and wins 200-0.

You're entitled to your opinion. As long as they play within the rules of the game, I have no issue with it. If they were somehow cheating, that's when I consider it classless, but if the other team just isn't good enough to defend basic basketball strategy, that's their problem and maybe they should cancel the program all together.

We'll agree to disagree. There are good and bad ways to go about this. This was the bad way. Has nothing to do with the rules.

I don't disagree that the other program should take a look at themselves and decide if they should really field a team. Sounds like they get this shit knocked out of them regularly.

You enjoy watching the "JV players" on Friday night for a full 24 minutes of play?

Yes. It actually helps a lot of schools to get young kids game experience. Not all schools have JV either. If anything, they should bump the point spread from 30 to like 42 or more.

it is up to the team on defense to stop the team on offensive . reading how bad the one team was makes this just a stupid pc thing once again. if anything the coach on the losing end of this needs suspended for not doing a better job ,or maybe he is another coach like buttermaker in the 'bad news bears'

The team winning by 30+ is running dives up the middle for 5 yards while the team losing still has the first team in trying to figure it out.
