Lazy Parents... Halloween Edition

  • ernest_t_bass
So, my wife and I took the kids trick-or-treating this past weekend. Probably walked 2 miles or so. Kids were champs, although I had to carry my 4 year old about .5 miles. While out trick-or-treating, I saw one of the most disturbing things, and I saw it quite often. Parents trolling along the side of the road in their damn cars, while their little Jimmy and Tina (or whatever their fat kids names were) ran from house to house getting candy. Whatever happened to parents WALKING their children around for trick-or-treat? No wonder our nation is so fucking obese. It's absurd. I mean, the streets were LINED with parents trolling the side of the road, following their kids. I'm proud to say that I walked my young kids around, regardless of how much I enjoyed it.

What's also disturbing is to see the parents who are in it for the candy, just as much as their fat kids are. While many parents were trolling the side of the road, there were a few that were RUNNING door to door with their kids, bragging about the "loot" they were getting. Don't get me wrong, it's great for your kids to see you excited, but excited for THEM.

    I hate 'Murica sometimes.

I suggest traffic strips in the neighborhood or police licenses plate check… that should cut out that behavior.
Sign in the yard: Candy given to only those with teeth
    No Candy for Felons
If you drove or were driven here … Jack Shit will be given
    Walk for your candy …….BITCH

Create your own for next year..

Seriously considering a sign like this! LOL...we have so many lazy parents that drive their cars while their kids gather up dinner from door-to-door. White trash pieces of shit! Fat, lazy, unemployed, and a free Obama phone!

My favorite, about 6 years ago I had a parent who I couldn't get to come in and sign their kids IEP. They told me they didnt have gas money, they lived about 15 miles from school. I didnt want to, but my then principal said I had to. Drove out to the middle of nowhere, and in Pike County that is the middle of nowhere! lol A week later was trick or treat in Piketon and guess who was trolling behind their fat kid, yep the fat, toothless mother and grandmother! The following Monday I told my principal never again will I drive to a parents house to get paperwork signed.

I always walk with my kids on trick or treat.

We had our trick or treat last night. The whole town drives to my neighborhood to get candy. Last year there were two buses that rolled in. We didn't pass out candy this year. My wife and I both walked with our kids. We typically spend $150 in candy to feed all the trash that roll through.

Parents that piss me off are the ones that pull their 6 month of in a wagon or push them in a stroller and the parents have a bag to get candy "for the kid". GTFOHWTS.

    Bingo.

So now we prepare trick or treat bags of candy for the neighbor kids and get it to them, and on trick-or-treat night turn out the lights, lock up the house, and head out --- {Dog appreciates it too}. It is sad that what was once a good time has gone down the rat hole.

Yep. They truck the little burdens in. It's a steady stream of animals for 2 hours.

Fuck that. $5 with 2 bags and that is it. Was working in the yard since it was so nice and they even came up to me while I was shoveling in my garden.

I'm calling supreme BS on "spending a $150 on candy..." that is a complete lie from jump street. Secondly nobody is "trucking kids in..."
    for fucking trick or treat.

My mom probably spent $150 easily when I was a kid on Halloween candy. I grew up in a huge neighborhood with tons of kids around my age. We were a nicer neighborhood in town so everyone wanted to trick or treat in our neighborhood. Then on top of that my mom passed out full size candy bars so you had some kids visit the house two or three times.

My mom liked trick or treat and we were well off enough that she liked to go all out.

Our house on Christmas was crazy as well.

now that my mom is older and the neighborhood has very few kids she only spends probably $20-$30 and gives out handfuls of candy to the few kids that do come to the door.

It's Said. No one should ever refer to him as Salto. Salto is Said, and Said is banned. Therefore, technically, Salto should be banned. Too bad justin DGAF anymore.

I love candy..it's like my weakness. But Halloween to me is fun because of my daughter. She gets so excited and loves dressing up. I get more joy out of just watching her than anything.
