Coldwater police confirm they are investigating after a Coldwater Exempted Village Schools’ high school student was seriously injured with an air hose during a shop class Tuesday, October 21.
According to Coldwater police Chief Jason Miller, two students were involved in horseplay when one one student allegedly placed an air hose in the rectum of another student, causing serious injury to the teen’s colon.

Will the perpetrator get away with a slap on the wrist? .....should we throw them in jail ...should we prosecute the parents?

Oh, the comparitive media driven outrage!

now if it was a band member, they would fire the shop teacher and the principal.

    This, only because:
causing serious injury to the teen’s colon.
That could be a perfed colon -- life-threatening if not treated immediately.

Gosh a ruddies I bet this never came up during circle jerks on the IFC, but compassionate
people feel empathy. When an autistic boy has is videoed having urine and other wastes dumped on him, then has the experience put on the internet, they want the perpetrators punished. If this young person was forced or tricked into this situation then punishment for his tormentors should be expected. That would be “comparative” justice.

You are a dolt if you don't see the difference, between a group of guys pranking each other, and another who forcibly gets a hose shoved up his ass. One goes home and showers...the other is in the hospital. Whers's the appropriate outrage? There's a huge difference here, but it doesn't fit your agenda.

gosh a ruddies, reading comprehension is not a qualification for the IFC. The present evidence does not support your description of the incident. So far In there is no evidence to support "forcibly." In fact "There is no evidence at this time that this was a bullying incident, Chief Miller said in a statement released tonight." Tricking a mentality handicapped young man to have human waste poured on him, then putting it on the internet is.

What???? c'mon Isadore....you don't want to make up your mind and convict him thru the media before the police are done investigating? I am so glad you are learning about how the justice system works. Waiting for the poice to do their investigation must seem like a novel idea for you.....what a good idea.

gosh a ruddies this incident was not put on the internet by the perpetrators. That showed their guilt from the beginning and subsequent investigation just supported it. Your time on the IFC reinforced your lack of empathy for the handicapped.

So the internet replaces the police work, the judge and the jury?

I have empathy...it is about punishment fitting the crime

For your information, juvenile charges were filed against the Bay Village teens and they are being appropriately administered. You are welcome to reread the thread and what I posted and note that it happened just the way I said it would. In no way did I say the boys did not deserve punishment. My point was that simply this was a prank taken too far, and that the punishmnet for these youths should not include ruining there lives and 'hard time', as so many were quick to overreact.

    From the assistant prosecutor:
“The victim and the five charged juveniles were and are friends and classmates. They regularly associate with one another and, at times, engage in distasteful and sophomoric pranks,” said First Assistant County Prosecutor Duane Deskins, who heads the office's Juvenile Division. “However, this incident is clearly different. It crossed a moral and legal line, and even the five alleged perpetrators understand that and have expressed regret.”First Assistant Deskins added, “The charges recommended in this case strike a balance between punishment and rehabilitation. As the second oldest Juvenile Court in the country, the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court has a mission to ‘administer justice, rehabilitate juveniles, support and strengthen families, and promote public safety.'
“The judges at Juvenile Court routinely see cases equally or more severe than this one and have a broad spectrum of tools, including detention, community service and diversion, to meet its mission and to deliver justice for the victim, his family and the entire Bay Village community.”

the perpetrators provided the video evidence of their act and an accidental confession. Your empathy throughout the discussion has been for the sociopaths who did tricked and humiliated the autistic boy. Once an IFC rep, always an IFC rep.

    From the assistant prosecutor:
And as I said on the ice bucket thread, the fix is in. This gang of sociopaths will mouth their mea culpas and get their wrist slaps. Then they continue torturing the weak and helpless.
And why? Because people would diminish their crime as a "misdemeanor", an "initiation", a "prank." And in the grand scheme of things “ not worthy of your real concern” because

He probably went and took a shower and is fine.” That is what you get from the reps on the IFC.
