Led Zeppelin vs Prince

  • bigdaddy2003
A friend of mine was discussing music at work, when a co worker said Prince was more widely known than Led Zeppelin. He posed the question on Facebook and I thought I'd add to the numbers by asking the OC.

    So who do you think?

I'd say the ravens win this argument

I think it depends on people's ages. I'll go with Prince since he released an album not to long ago.

As a big Prince fan My vote goes to Him

    Prince

I liked Prince when he was with the Tigers, but I went with Zeppelin.

There's an old saying, "If you're not a liberal when you're 15, you have no heart. And if you're not a conservative when you're 50, you have no brain." I will modify this for Zeppelin "If you don't love Zeppelin when you're 15, you're not a male. If you love Zeppelin when you're 50, you have no taste."

While I'm not a huge fan of Prince, I believe his talent and appeal is greater than Led Zeppelin - a band who's music is not aging all that well.

As much as I love Led Zepplin, Prince gets my vote as the most widely known.

Prince.... His (its) music cut across a larger segment of the population for a longer time, although Zepplin is certainly arguable from a larger record sales perspective.

    Robert Plant

Zeppelin is overrated while Prince is underrated.

    Prince is a boss.
  • MoldyDog
Led Zeppelin 200-300 million record sales
    Prince 100 million record sales

    Led Zeppelin > Prince

But I think more people would know who Prince is then who Led Zeppelin is; especially if it was just by seeing images of the people.

Zeppelin for being rockers and, therefore, worthy of my time.

yeah, and NIkki minaj has the record for the most billboard 100 hits,....

Doesnt mean LZ music was any better than Prince!

Anyone trying to use Nicki Minaj as a point of comparison to Led Zeppelin should just stop trying.

No, I am just saying that sales doesnt automatically mean they are producing great music....a la that ****

    Prince is more widely known

Toss up on who is better, but I'd go Prince.

Prince was more recent and therefore probably more well know, "game, blouses". But that does not mean Bob Ross is better than Salvador Dali.

    This. Prince fur sure.

Prince is probably more popular because his music is more current as crosses over to different genres of music(Rock, funk, soul). You can listen to rock and still be familiar with Prince. I don't think very many people who listen to soul or funk would know Zeppelin.

Prince more recognizable and better known.
