RotinajI haven't had any problems yet with the 4s. Hopefully that continues.

It's the final build they release to developers prior to the official drop. It sounds fancier than it is...it's the same build #.ernest_t_bass;1655069 wrote:What is gold master? -
ernest_t_bassI'm noticing some glitches so far. Deleted all of my photos. Not too happy about that. Safari glitches. All of my music isn't syncing.

You should always do a backup before upgrading.ernest_t_bass;1655172 wrote:I'm noticing some glitches so far. Deleted all of my photos. Not too happy about that. Safari glitches. All of my music isn't syncing. -

They're all stored in my iPhoto anyway. There were just certain ones I liked having on my phone.justincredible;1655189 wrote:You should always do a backup before upgrading. -
ernest_t_bassSeriously... not all my music is syncing, and I have no idea why. It's f'ing pissing me off.

They probably dumped some to make room for that new U2 album...ernest_t_bass;1655229 wrote:Seriously... not all my music is syncing, and I have no idea why. It's f'ing pissing me off. -
Scarlet_BuckeyeI have two iPhone 4s... work & personal. I upgraded my personal device to iOS 8 before I saw all the notices about 'Dont Upgrade 4s's'. Too late. Fortunately, I haven't had any major issues aside from it taking a little longer to load apps.
My biggest problem is I updated my iPad (2nd Gen, I believe... maybe 3rd Gen - not sure) this weekend to iOS 7.1.2, and ever since then, I can't get it to get out of 'Recovery' mode. It tells me to plug the iPad into iTunes (so I do), and then iTunes alerts me that it's detected an iPad in recovery mode (duh), and to update and install a previous backup. So I go thru the steps to do so, and at the end (when it looks like everything has been done correctly), iTunes advises me to keep the iPad connected... and then after about 10-15 seconds, it then says 'iTunes detects an iPad in recovery mode' (or whatever).
So that's quite frustrating. I contacted Apple Care and they tried the same exact steps I did (i.e., recover) but to no avail. So they scheduled me an appointment on Saturday for the Genius bar (oh boy). Let's see how that goes...
This is the 2nd time in my last 2 update attempts where my iPad has gotten 'stuck' in 'Recovery' mode. Grrrrrr! -
TedShecklerI have found that I'm "sorta" missing pictures too. They all weren't showing in the Photos app. Only some were. But when I plug it into my computer and go to my iPhone from the computer, I can see that they're all there. Weird.

Scarlet_BuckeyeRegarding the "pictures"... I don't like how I lost my "Camera Roll" album. I still have all my pictures... it's just the album is gone/missing. Instead, now I have the following albums: "Recently Added", "Hidden", and "Recently Deleted". Instead, all of my "pictures" are now under the Photos section, and under "Moments". I don't like this 'layout'.

Just noticed the same thing on mine. I'm not a fan either. But oh well.Scarlet_Buckeye;1655258 wrote:Regarding the "pictures"... I don't like how I lost my "Camera Roll" album. RotinajCount me in the group that dislikes the new photo layout.
-
TedShecklerWell we have this going for us...

sherm03One of our field reps just sent an email saying that he thinks a lot of people are going to be disappointed in the quality of the new iPhones. He said they seem like they sacrificed on their build quality in order to make the device bigger.
He said the 6 plus is even bigger than the Note (which always seemed ridiculously huge anyways) and that it seems like you're just talking on an iPad Mini. Store contacts in Chicago are suspecting that they are going to see a large return rate on the people that pre-ordered them.
In my years in wireless, I've never heard of people in the store saying they are expecting returns on an iPhone. So this should be very interesting how this all shakes out. -
bases_loadedIMO after its all said and done...Motorola will still blow dicks.
-
ernest_t_bassI just don't get the hype for a "big" phone. I think the size of my current iPhone (5c) is just fine.

Possibly.bases_loaded;1655282 wrote:IMO after its all said and done...Motorola will still blow dicks. -
AutomatikAgreed. IMO the 5S is the perfect. I would just like to see the screen go edge to edge and ditch the home button.
The 6 is just a bit larger so I doubt it's that noticeable. Now the 6 Plus, that's for old people and females. I'll never fuck with a phone that big. -
ernest_t_bassI'm most interested in an indestructible screen. Does the 6 claim to have a pretty strong screen?
-
justincredibleI think 4.7" is about ideal for screen size. I was hoping the Moto X would have stayed at that size, but 5.2" isn't too bad.

It's 5.2", but it's the essentially the same dimensions and weight as the iPhone 6.justincredible;1655295 wrote:I think 4.7" is about ideal for screen size. I was hoping the Moto X would have stayed at that size, but 5.2" isn't too bad. -

Yup. Same here. I'd like to go to my local phone shop in order to compare the 5s with the 6. side by side; in hand.ernest_t_bass;1655283 wrote:I just don't get the hype for a "big" phone. I think the size of my current iPhone (5c) is just fine. -
gut
My thoughts exactly. Maybe up to 5" if there's minimal bezel around (basically the same footprint as most 4.7" screens, just less bezel).justincredible;1655295 wrote:I think 4.7" is about ideal for screen size.
And some people like front speakers, but I don't care for the length it adds to a phone (like HTC One M8)...I'm not going to watch much video on my phone (and if I did, I'd be using headphones) nor do I share videos with speakers blaring to annoy people around my group.
Sooner or later someone is going to figure out the PC-style a-la-carte model and just clean-up. -
fish82Picked up the 6 yesterday afternoon. It's pretty fuggin' sweet.
