Microsoft Excel, phone numbers, and smart phones...

In an effort to move into the 21st century, I am copying all of my numbers from my rolladex into an excel worksheet. If I email this spreadsheet to myself, or someone else, I want the ability to click on the phone number and have it automatically dial the number.

I have a large number of names and sharing the contacts via text message or passing along the rolladex to a few people so they can upload the contacts as well seems to be extra work.

What I want to do is find a way to insert the name and number into an excel sheet and then email the book. At that point, if someone opens the email, wants to call Jenny, all they have to do is click on her number.

Any idea how to make this happen?

There has to be a better way to do this.

The bottom line is, I have a collection of names, addresses and numbers that, if I send in a document, people can just touch the number and call them. ...like I do with emails sent in an excel format.

ps: I don't have a rolladex. That was a joke.

    I would...

Sync with Google Contacts, then send contact cards to people as needed.

Hell, if you want to call Jenny its 867-5309 everyone knows that.

Don't do it with Dropbox. I've tried that, doesn't work...unfortunately.

Her number wasn't in my rolladex. ...it was on the wall...

Hmm...why not just have an email draft with all of the numbers you need? I dont know of a way off of the top of my head where you can click on an excel document on your phone and have it dial, mostly because I dont check excel on my phone, but I just typed a number in one of my emails and sent it to another, and I could click on it to dial.

I could be wrong, but I think Blackberry almost allowed Excel to have a click-and-call option. I feel like I did.

If I save the file as a CSV file (one of the save options), it works. But only for the phone numbers. I wish there was a way to save the file so both, the phone numbers and email addresses, were clickable.
