    Boomers - "the greatest generation"
  • sleeper
lol'd. Yeah its no secret the Boomers will go down in history as running the country into the ground. The 'worst generation' is the only appropriate title.

Don't givafuk...we are running the show now and when we say "jump"...your gen asks "how high?"

You'll be dead soon anyways, so I highly doubt you'll be telling anyone to jump
  • Belly35

  • Tigerfan00
The only thing Tearnan would jump for, is a 12 pack.
  • Tiernan

It works for now until we can't afford anything besides entitlement programs for baby boomers. Then, when you say "jump" we will ask you what kind of cat food you want inside your 1x1 foot cell.

That is the reality for boomers. You will lose.

Irony? The shit will hit the fan before I'm 40 and it will give me about 20 years of decent health and earning potential to save money for retirement. Boomers won't have that luxury. Buy stock in cat food.

Yes I fully expect a crunch to occur around 2020-22; that's the point where we either have to substantially raise taxes or substantially cut benefits(or substantially de-value the currency). I'll get to enjoy a 60% tax bracket and you'll get a $200/mo social security check. That'll be fun, hey what kind of cat food do you like?

I crack the whip on about 20 Gen Y & Xers everyday. I'm sure they probably hate me but I cash that check off their sweat equity every week and always salute them when I tip back a cold one bought on their hard work (I must be one helluva motivator).

    I know what you mean.

5 of my 15 direct reports are Gen X/Y'ers. I sent one of the useless morons home yesterday for wearing baggy shorts to work. He got a little pissed saying he needed the money. I told him he should have thought about that before the ladies in the department complained about the color of his boxers and the tattoos on his ass.

The other 4 are pretty decent workers....assuming I'm can keep them off their cell phones. But - hey - I can't be everywhere at once.

Well I guess the alternative is to hire a bunch of entitled brats who can barely turn on a computer much less type faster than 10 WPM.

This tells me you make some poor hiring decisions. And it also tells me that the 4 that are on their phones too much are not being utilized properly because they are finishing their work early and are bored.

Sounds like all of the problems you described above are a direct reflection of management. Doesn't look too good for you man.

Not at all. The work is there and they actually have the skills to do it. The thing is, they actually think we hired them to text, take smoke breaks, and collect a paycheck. But asking them to actually earn that money? Why should they? The Boomers handed a living to them for free all their lives. More like poor parenting decisions.
