Card Games

Anyone play cards anymore? We used to play euchre but hardly find anyone that know how to play. I like playing poker but enjoying getting some people together to play euchre or rummy. Used to play a lot of different card games but do not hear of anyone playing them anymore. Spades, hearts, gin, and even euchre I hardly ever hear of anyone playing or wanting to play. What are some games the OC folks like to play?

TEGWAR...official card game of the NYC Mammoths baseball club. 10 reps to the first person that knows what this is.

I'd own everyone here in euchre.
  • OSH
I don't play anything but euchre...and very rarely anymore.

My family loves cards. I can play pretty much any card game there is. Our current favorites our tonk, euchre, spades, and Phase 10. I used to be a really good Poker player but since the online ban I haven't played much. My mom still plays Texas Hold Em daily. Racehorse Rummy for $1 a point is still played at our family reunions.

We we also play a lot of board games like dominoes, strategto, cranium, and cards against humanity.

BTW I am the best Euchre player ever. When I was in 7th-senior Year I was in a yahoo euchre league. I have played probably 50 different variations with my favorite being reverse and easily over 1,000,000 games. My friends won't even play against me anymore. Only my family still plays against me.

Old Maid, Go Fish, Crazy 8's, War, and UNO champ right here.

Play all kinds of card games. Euchre, hearts, rummy, spades, etc.

To to be honest, strategy wise euchre is an easy game that takes near zero thought once you really know the game.

Now spades, that game takes a lot more strategy and critical thinking than euchre.

Love euchre. Unfortunately, my friend group is more into poker (they play every Friday), but my family plays every time we get together.

Euchre, spades, rummy and golf mostly.

Played 3 card poker at the casino on the cruise in February...won $400.

Used to play poker when that was the thing...also played canasta back in the day.

Euchre, all the time with family. I'd like to play poker more, but we rarely do. Other games we play: left/right/center with quarters, and horse racing dice game for money.

Euchre rarely. Like to do so more often, but it's a matter of getting four willing players and we usually wind up with three.

Other than that, pretty much nothing, unless you count things like hitting the blackjack table in video games like Red Dead Redemption as "playing cards".

Love card games. Don't get into too many Euchre games anymore. I have gotten my whole family into "Wizard", a full deck variant of Euchre that involves bidding. If you like Euchre, you will love Wizard. Excellent game. Much more strategy and skill involved with having to craft your bid and then playing to win exactly that amount of tricks.

Love to play Euchre, Spades, and Rummy. I also play any casino card games.

Great that a teacher promotes gambling to his students.

Euchre, African Gin (sometimes called 'Contract Rummy'), and Tripoley are the three card games I prefer.

Note: I'm amazed at how "midwest" Euchre is. If you mention "Euchre" on the East coast or West coast, people look at you as if you're speaking Martian. It's stunning.

I had to look up African Gin. We play Shanghai Rummy, which is a version of "Contract Rummy." I had never heard them called African Gin or Contract Rummy before.

    This is standard Shanghai:
    Deal Number Contract
    1 Two Sets of 3
2 One Set of 3 and One Sequence of 4
    3 Two Sequences of 4
    4 Three Sets of 3
5 One Set of 3 and One Sequence of 7
6 Two Sets of 3 and One Sequence of 5
    7 Three Sequences of 4
8 One Set of 3 and One Sequence of 10
9 Three Sets of 3 and One Sequence of 5
    10 Three Sequences of 5

Sounds like Phase 10. Which I also love playing. Same with Uno.

Only games I play are Euchre and Oh Hell.

I have yet to meet anyone outside the Polish/Macedonian side of my family who knows how to play Oh Hell.

LoL... Hugely fun, funny , and sooo politically incorrect. :D

I play just about any card game, and if I don't know it, I 'll learn.

In my younger days, 30 years ago, I was just a few points

short of being a Bridge " master"....having played seriously thru most of my high school , college, and graduate school years. But, after leaving academia, I found myself with no one to conveniently play with.... It's been years now :( . Now mostly I play euchre or pinochle... Which is kind of like playing checkers instead of chess .

I looked this game up and it seems like it would be fun to play. Would be a great betting game haha.
