Vegas Shows

  • sportchampps
Wife and I are going to Vegas for our first anniversary next month. We are staying for a week and want to go to a few shows. The only show I have bought tickets for so far is The Beatles Love. What shows have you seen and would you recommend. Has anyone seen absinthe because it looks pretty good.

Ive seen the blue man group, pen and teller, and the medieval times dinner thing. Enjoyed all 3 but have no clue if any of them are still there.

Saw Love last year. You'll love it.

Glitter Gulch has great shows downtown on Fremont street.

Saw two Cirque du Soleil shows in December 2013 -- Zarkana and Zumanity. Both were really good.

I was told the Cirque show "O" was a must-see.

What did you think of Zarkana. I have seen Zumanity before. Which of the two did you like better. Has anyone seen ale Reve I've read it's a better O

I have heard good things about O.

The Spearmint Rhino usually has some solid performers as well.

Most don't know it....there's some decent hiking and riding around. Look for something in Red Rock. I think there's some decent stuff on the Arizona side near Hoover Dam, as well.

I definitely like both of them. Can't decide on a better -- unless it is Zumanity for obvious reasons :).

Zarkana had more elaborate costumes, design, and stunting, possibly.

Cool thanks maybe I'll just buy Zarkana as it's only like $50 a ticket

It will be the first weekend of the NFL season so I'll be betting on some games as well

Absinthe at Caesars - best / funniest / affordable show on the Strip

Depends how much you're willing to spend. A few thousand can get some moderately attractive escorts to do unthinkable things.

Tiernan have you seen Absinthe? If you have could you kinda describe the show. I've seen the opening comedy (funny as hell) but how our the acts? Is there a place that is better to sit?
  • Tiernan
I've seen it twice actually. The jokes and skits change somewhat night to night. You can't be someone that is offended by anything sexual because they definitely walk the line on tastelessness but most of it is piss your pants funny. There are some weird almost carnival like freaks in the show too and somebody in the crowd always gets picked on by the MC. The seating is "in the round" and there are really no bad seats but down front costs a few bucks more.

Cool thanks I think I'll go with that then. As someone who lives cards against humanity I think I will love it

There is a kiosk in front of the giant Coke bottle near Planet Hollywood that sells discount tickets for shows that same night. They usually don't have the full menu of shows available that night until around 2pm. But you can get some nice deals like 25 - 40% off from this place. I paid $65 ea for two Absinthe about 9 mos ago. It is usually $95 which is way cheaper than Cirque shows and some of the Absinthe acrobats and contortionists are as good or better.

If you're gambling a decent amount, show tickets should be a relatively easy score as a comp (assuming you're gambling at the casino where the show is) since many shows don't sell out.

When it comes to comps in Vegas, most people don't realize they could get a dinner or show tickets if they asked. Probably easier if you're NOT staying at that hotel and they can give you a free ticket that otherwise goes unsold.
