It is sad to think that after an incident like this, the first thing is to call the authorities. Usually, people who live on big country lots are neighborly people. They know one another, look out for one another, and the dogs know one another and incidents like this are few and far between. This was my experience growing up, and continues to this day. You should know your neighbor well enough to talk about the situation, and if you don't know them, this would be a good time to do it in a non threatening manner. Express your regret for your dog wandering into his yard, and also address your concern about young children that might do the same. People that respect each other and each other's personal liberties and property certainly can solve this problem. If your neighbor is not an agreeable sort, then you will have to do what is necessary to protect your dog and/or young children....and that would be to fence your yard in whether you like it or not.

She refused to babysit me when I was little because it was "a waste of her time" making her son have to switch to midnights so I'd be watched. Then she actually rooted against me once in a soccer game against her town because the neighbor kid was on the other team
    This is pretty funny.

my parents live out in the country and when i was in high school we got some new neighbors "up the hill" and i guess they had a couple goats. Our german shepard ate at least one of them. they didnt call the cops my parents just paid for the goat and put the dog on a run from then on.

This thread should be titled "should I grow a pair of balls and talk to my neighbor?"

Give the dog some ricin. His owner will think he's got the flu or a heart attack then it will die. I've seen this done before. On tv.

Zwick, surely you jest. If not, something needs to be done to see that you don't reproduce.

if it was a pitbull, it would have preferred killing a toddler.
