-
Ironman92Staying in Rockville Maryland. Will be there Sunday and Monday. Sight seeing Sunday and most of Monday, going to Nationals/Orioles game that evening.
Is the metro my recommended way of travel? Tips/Advice appreciated. Thanks -

Are they playing in DC or Baltimore? Metro is the best way to the game at nats stadium.Ironman92;1632941 wrote:Staying in Rockville Maryland. Will be there Sunday and Monday. Sight seeing Sunday and most of Monday, going to Nationals/Orioles game that evening.

raiderbuckDefinitely Metro.
Unless you like traffic. Lots...and lots of traffic. -
Manhattan BuckeyeDefinitely metro if possible. Cabs are expensive and driving/parking in DC is a nightmare.

ptown_trojans_1Welcome to my neck of the woods. I live in Rockville now.
Depending on where you are, either the Rockville, Twinbrook, or White Stations will be your best bet to head into the city toward Glenmont.
They are on the Red Line, and will take you into DC, where you can transfer to the Green Line at Galley Place/ Chinatown. That will take you down to the stadium.
Trip should take you about an hour or so depending on if there are any delays.
You can take the Red Line most of the way into the city to sight see.
I wouldn't recommend traveling by car much in DC just due to traffic and awful parking.
Oh, and for the metro, please, please, please remember on the escalator: Walk on the left side, stand on the right.
You will get the evil eye if you stand on the left side and get in people's way while they are trying to head to work. -

Ironman92Thanks guys. Game in Nationals Park. Ptown's 3rd paragraph was what we were looking at. Thanks for the escalator advice.

SonofanumpJust returned from a DC vacation. Metro is awesome there. I'd recommend buying a hard plastic metro card if you take more than one trip via metro.

Ironman92We are only going to be there tomorrow afternoon to late Mon evening. I guess we'll be using the metro each day.....my wife and daughter planned this stuff and until beach time I'm just along for the ride except for the 2 MLB games.
Where's good parking for National's Park? We typically park where it's an easy trip out . Not afraid of a walk as you sit most of the 3 hour game. -
A PACEat some food when you're there. Hope this helps.

Find a nice restaurant on 14th street in Logan Circle. It will beat the hell out of Applebees, I promise.Ironman92;1633385 wrote:Damn that was a lot of walking lol. Everything pretty cool once we figured out what the hell we were doing. -

Too late today to help me....we were so tired and hungry anything would've been great and it was.like_that;1633390 wrote:Find a nice restaurant on 14th street in Logan Circle. It will beat the hell out of Applebees, I promise.
Are there any restaurants in the Arlington Cemetery area or near a metro station nearest that area? We're heading that way in the later morning but are wanting to time it out to hit a decent place to eat and then take metro to Nationals Park for a 7:05 game....wanting to arrive at Nationals Park early (6:15ish)
Supposed to be pretty hot tomorrow...I'd prefer not being worn out and stinky but don't figure on having time to metro back to Rockville and then back to Nats Park.
We had a good time today.
FYI.....not an Applebee's fan. -
Commander of AwesomeJust go to Pizza Paradiso: http://www.eatyourpizza.com/#sthash.H8Amcxx2.dpbs
There's one in in Old Town Alexandria, which isn't too far from the cemetery if you have a car, or go to the Georgetown/P street one if by public transit. Best pizza ever, great beer list. What could be better? -
Ironman92J.J. Hardy batting practice HR ball
Great game seats -
Raw Dawgin' itDid you get Ben's Chili bowl? Best place to eat at Nat's Stadium, imo. Nothing like a couple half smoke chili dogs.

It happens ALL THE TIME here and its terribly annoying especially for me since I never stand on the metro.Automatik;1633816 wrote:lol, do people fuck that up in DC? They do here, ALWAYS. -
AutomatikPeople in London got it down. Why? Because they have fucking signs. We need posted signs at all escalators.
