Day at the range
-
Belly35Earlier today I when to the pistol range. Kinda my way of working out issue and being alone. I start my practice at 18 to 20 feet an them move down range a little. However today I was enjoying just shooting and stayed at 18 feet. love my sig .45 the power after about 50 rounds, I can nail just low left of bullseye in a three inch grouping 8 rounds in a less that 20 seconds. However changing targets I lost consistency. I moved to my sig 9mm which I practice the most with again I'm within the bullseye but lower left my speed and accuracy is better but I can hold my accuracy from changing to and fro targets another 50 round of enjoyment. Now the sig .380 love this little guy however because I don't shoot it ever much .. I'm good and can get a tight grouping just not as consistent seem alway one round will drift.
Those of you who enjoy the freedom of weapon ownership how is your shooting skills?
I haven't shot a rifle in a long time so my skill level would suck .....long way from Bullseye M14 250 yards... nam days...mofo
by the way I feel better now and have some answers to the issues... -
McFly1955I need to get out and practice more...In my life I have only shot a pistol 3 different occasions, and shotgun just once.
I have a Bodyguard .380 for carry, which I don't carry as often as I'd like. Also have a Mossberg 500 for home defense.
This has all happened in the past 12 months...I'm planning to start going more regularly, and I'd like to shoot some outdoors with the shotgun. -
Benny The JetHave a .380, I'm awful at shooting handguns, I need to more though. Also have a Mossberg 500, use it for hunting. I really enjoy shooting clays with it, getting pretty good at it,

Belly35I need to get a shot gun for added home protection. One of the OC turned me onto a Judge ? 410/44 sweet looking and the wife can use..

BRFBring the Judge to show me next time we golf.

ps- I could outshoot anyone on this board, except for maybe Enforcer. LJ doesn't count since he quit. -

Belly35I strongly suggest that those who have a CCW learn your weapon and shoot on a regular bases.
-
WallyYeah, I'm real comfortable knowing guys are carrying guns that they've only shot 3 times…..

I haven't bought it yet... I'm still replacing golf balls from our last outing....BRF;1632153 wrote:Bring the Judge to show me next time we golf. -

madly stated he doesn't carry as much as he would like ... My guess is because of lack of confidence, so he knows his limits .. And that's a good thing.Wally;1632232 wrote:Yeah, I'm real comfortable knowing guys are carrying guns that they've only shot 3 times….. -

Carry only a few days a month, yes.Pick6;1632158 wrote:so you carry a .380 and have only shot a pistol 3 times in your life???

Shot 3 times in my life, yes, but all within the past 10 months or so..An hour each session with someone very experienced.
Also took a full day class on gun handling/safety, instruction for CCW. A lot of useless stuff included, but for someone like me who did not grow up around guns, it was worthwhile.
I don't claim to be a great shooter at this point, but each time I've shot I've been able to hit a target from a decent distance away consistently, which is good enough for me for personal protection...I have no plans to get into professional target shooting at this point. I also have no plans to ever use the gun outside of the range, but in the event that myself, my wife, and 3 kids are walking around our neighborhood and find ourselves in a situation where I need to defend myself and my family, I won't be thinking "I hope those people on that website are comfortable with me carrying this gun". And yes, I know the laws in my state and surrounding states on when I can and can not use a firearm in an altercation, etc. I've done my research. -

See post above, hope it makes you more comfortable.Wally;1632232 wrote:Yeah, I'm real comfortable knowing guys are carrying guns that they've only shot 3 times….. -
justincredibleI'm getting very comfortable and very accurate with my XDs 45. I plan on scheduling my appointment with the sheriff in the next week or so to finalize my ccw permit.

thavoiceI am consistantly 32-35 out of 40 on the M4 range. Shot the M9 at the range in April but it wasnt for qualifying.....just went a few iterations to get reacquainted with the weapon as I hadnt shot it for quite awhile. Same with the M249, shot it from the turret but not for qualifying.
Was a great day at the range!
Can hardly find .22LR so it is getting tougher and tougher to fire that one. Usually just bring that one out to the in-laws farm and shoot shit. -

You must have a Class 3 Permit to have a M4 Ranger and a SAW?thavoice;1632272 wrote:I am consistantly 32-35 out of 40 on the M4 range. saltoGrew up with an old Sears and Roebuck 22LR semi automatic. Could pick off any ground hog (one shot) within 100 meters all day long and it didn't matter how much beer I drank. Best summer job ever.
Should have never sold that gun. It was scary accurate. -

Added home protection? From your previous posts it sounds like you already have an arsenal. Where the hell is the ghetto you live?Belly35;1632139 wrote:I need to get a shot gun for added home protection. One of the OC turned me onto a Judge ? 410/44 sweet looking and the wife can use..
