Boston/Cape Cod trip help
-
power iHubby and I are planning a mini vacation at the end of July. Red Sox game is a must so would like suggestions on hotels/restuarants close to Fenway. I want a couple relaxing days at the beach. Doesn't have to be Cape Cod, just somewhere relaxing with a beachy, quaint feel not too far from Boston. No better place than here to get opinions.

Scarlet_BuckeyeCape Cod is quite nice. Definitely recommend relaxing there.

YtowngirlinflaMy husband is from Cambridge. He is saying other than the Cape not really much for beach scene. Hotels in and around Boston are pretty pricey. You are looking at $200+ a night for an average hotel. He said not many options in Fenway to stay. You may want to look at a bed/breakfast. Those are usually more affordable.

The downtown hotels are flipping crazy. I did find some a couple miles away for cheaper so that's probably what we'll do. I've found some pretty cool looking places in Cape Cod on the beach for $125ish. But it's good to know I'm looking in the right place for my beach. Thanks! -

We used www.airbnb.com for our upcoming trip to Chicago. We found an apartment that sleeps 5 for a very reasonable price. It was cheaper than almost all of the hotels, plus there is a full kitchen and other amenities. Not sure about options in the Boston area, but it's probably worth checking out.power i;1620433 wrote:Sorry to disappoint you. And I think you meant dyke.

My wife and I have thought about going up to New England for a couple of years and might make a late summer/early fall trip this year. -

Hey 4cards. I've done many trips to New England. Most before I met my husband. I was lucky that in middle school and high school my parents and grandparents did a 10 day road trip in the fall around New England. Nothing like it. Fall in Vermont, Mass, Maine, New Hampshire. Pretty amazing. Wish I could find those photos.4cards;1620697 wrote:...hey power i, nice to see you posting. Let me know how your trip goes.

Since I've been with my husband the past 5 years or so, we've made a bunch trips back. Tons of stuff to do in and around Boston. I had him do the touristy stuff with me the first few times. Of course, its whatever to him. But there are a lot of non-touristy areas that are so much better. -
