Once had, wish you had now

  • Belly35
Wow! Thinking back of the good old days and the many things I would love to have back now.

    1964 GTO
    1968 Norton 750 Commando
    Whitey Ford baseball glove
    Grandpa 12 gage shotgun
    Just to name a few

What are some of the things you wish you had back now?

My first car (2-door). Wasn't anything special, but when I only had 2 payments left on it, my wife got pregnant (with 2nd child), and I traded it in for a 4-door. Dumbest decision ever.

My last house. Still own it, but I'd rather be residing there than our current house. One less mortgage as well.

As you can see, I'm an idiot (cut the sentence here for dlazz) when it comes to major life purchases.

Neither of those were ill-advised purchases. You still have the one house, and the other you made a rational thought due to the newborn. (prayers to the child)

Still, I'm skeptical of these decisions because you didn't make a thread courting the OC's advice.

    Hope this helps.

I can't think of anything I've had in the past that I'd want back. There's a reason it's the past.

My old NES and SNES in actual working condition. Emulation is great and all, but I haven't found a computer controller that works quite as well for those games as the old classic ones for those systems did. The analog sticks tend to be a bit off at times and those controllers' actual control pads are far inferior to the actual NES/SNES controllers.

I have both. SNES is perfect. Not sure about my NES. Also, just recently picked up a 64 and Goldeneye.

For me, I sold my SNES to a friend around when I bought a PS1 and my NES is at that area where it takes a LOT of blowing in the cartridges and in the cartridge slot to get anything to work to the point where it's not worth it.

I should pick up a 64 at some time. Then again, I bought a Wii around Christmas when GameStop had them for $50-60 and that's GameCube compatible and also got the 3DS with DS compatibility, so most stuff I'd want to play on the 64, I could get over the NES shop or, in the case of Ocarina of Time, the enhanced 3DS port.

Yeah, I had sold my original 64 and all games and stuff several years back. Really regret it.

No problem. Years ago I actually found an N64/PS1 adapter at Wal-Mart (of all places).

I do wish I had that back, but I'm not losing a lot of sleep over it since I can just buy another one.

1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ. Sold it for like $4500, straight 6, less than 100k miles. Having a newer car is dumb other than gas mileage.

I like having the peace of mind on the warranty.

    Also gas mileage.

The job I had when I was 22-25.

The money I had when I was living at home with my parents.

Lol, actually I'm not a negative person at all. But I do wish I had those things. I can't really think of anything else. I have never had a great car or house, etc.

    Laziness and beer.

But seriously...that's it. Though it is a current goal of mine, so we shall see.
