Tomorrow I fly home but for somber reasons...

My aunt has had a long fight with cancer however the end is very near. My wife and I got the call today and was told to get there ASAP. How does one walk away from someone they care for deeply knowing it will be the last time? I'm am actually on egg shells knowing there is a chance we may not get there in time for that!

My grandparents had what I call late oopsy in life and my mom's youngest sister is only two years older than I. We grew up close, she is more of a big sister to me! She is only 40 with 3 kids, 13 yr old daughter and twin 10 yr old boys. Her husband is such a great guy my heart breaks for he and the kids. Going to be a long next few days!

Anyways thanks for always listening OC! Maybe I'll run into a fellow OC'er while were in Columbus the next few days.

Hope it goes as smoothly as possible and you can remember all the great moments you shared. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Feel your pain Fab1b! One of my good friends from OH passed away from liver cancer on Apr 18th. He had 4 kids ages 2, 5, 11,13. Feel so sorry for his wife. I just saw him in Columbus in March for state basketball tourneys and he just found out he had cancer. I told him I would be home in OH for Easter and Kids' Spring Break (week after Easter) and would hope to see him and do some things together. He died on Good Friday as we were travelling back to OH. Sad I did not get to see him before he passed. I did get to go to calling hours and funeral since we were home and helped out the this past Sunday at an awesome benefit to raise money for his family before we left to go home to NC.
