At what age........

thavoiceDo you really start remembering alot about your past?
I am not talking about just a thing here and there, but quite a few things.
I am finding that it was about age 10. Just seems like things from the past that come up in the news/history/etc about the earliest that I find myself remember often is around that age. -
Manhattan BuckeyeFirst memory was 3 years old - Star Wars in the theater with very irresponsible or awesome parents (depending on your POV).
I remember some things from Kindergarten, and all through elementary school but not many world events. I remember Indiana beating North Carolina in the NCAA tourney after Reagan was shot, but very barely. Just Isaiah Thomas and Bobby Knight....couldn't name another Hoosier. -

pmoney25Around 10 also. I remember a few personal events as far back as 2 or 3. My first sports memory was The Celtics/Rockets finals when I was 6.
My first world event I remember in detail was Desert Storm and a little bit about The Berlin wall. -

Yeah. I know. I guess what I am getting at is when stuff comes up in history, or your past, what generally is the age you furthest go back in remember things.dlazz;1601974 wrote:"a lot" is a pretty vague term
Of course there are memories from before then, but more often than not I am remembering things that happened right around that age. The first wrestlemania, certain things about school and our school athletic teams, historic events, anniversaries of movies/athletic endeavors..shit like that. -
dlazzYou guys have shitty memories. I remember my 3rd birthday party and a plethora of memories throughout elementary school.

Mohican003, maybe earlier. I remember quite a few things from the first house I lived in which was only up until I was 3.5 y/o. Don't really remember world events from that age other than I hated 80s synth pop (namely, Tears for Fears) and loved the A-Team and Fraggle Rock. I vaguely remember the 88 election between Sr and Dukakis, but I definitely remember the fall of the Berlin Wall and communism in the former Soviet Union.
The old Lazarus department store in the Mansfield mall was selling chunks of the Berlin Wall as memorabilia to people who thought chunks of concrete would become valuable in their lifetime. -
Fab4RunnerMy first memories start around 3 or 4, but complete years don't really start until about 7ish I would say. It's kind of a bummer, because my mom had twins when I was 5 and I don't recall a lot from when they were babies.

reclegend22My earliest and most vivid sports memory is watching Phoenix and Chicago in the 1993 NBA Finals. I was a big Charles Barkley fan as a kid -- had the purple, black and white Sir Charles Suns jerseys -- and can remember most of that series, including MJ dropping a Finals record 54 points in one of the games. I was six at the time.
I remember plenty of more personal experiences and random events that happened before that, dating back to the first house I ever lived which my family left when I was three. So I would say my first memory dates back to 1989 or 1990. -
TiernanI vaguely recall my mother crying after hearing about Pearl Harbor because my uncle was stationed there.

SonofanumpI have a few memories from the summer I was 3 3/4, but vivid from 7 on.

Belly35Depending on the event and how much trauma was involved. I remember living in France with my mom, the apartment, dinner down stairs, my baby sitter and I still have the square scar on my leg from being burned by the hot water bottle I was 2 years old. My half sister drowned when I was 3 and I remember that day very clear, same year I took few stitches off the monkey bars... Mom freaked
most memories being for me around 6 or 7 I think it had a lot to do with my grandpa and the stuff we did... And he let me do... Never for get the first pig you kill with a pistol shot to the head -
GOONx19Space Jam in theaters for my 6th birthday.
