    Now, I'm ALL for change, and I'm ALL for super sectional, but more-so for a slightly different reason, not just so my "conference" does better, or performs better. Here are my thoughts:
    I say YES, have a super sectional, but it would be tough to do in all divisions, because of the widespread distance between teams (in NW Ohio). Would be a lot easier in D3 and D4. The areas along the 3C's high way (I-71) can do this b/c there are so many schools.

    Example of making it work... combine the Bryan and Paulding D4 sectional. No reason that crap teams at Bryan should be celebrating by CUTTING DOWN THE FREAKING NET for beating other crap teams.

    I grew up at a school that played in the Piqua super sectional, and even then, you didn't cut down the nets unless you won at Vandalia. It sickens me that many of these teams celebrate mediocrity by cutting down the nets after, often times, only winning one damn game. Big deal.

    I don't see it as "crying to the media" because the writer sought out the coaches opinions. That’s what he does. It's not like the coaches called up the Daily Standard and asked the article to be written.

    If a writer asks a coach about the officials, does that open the door for the coach to complain and berate officials? You know... it's the writer's fault.

    A lot of the complaining/concern comes from the MAC having tougher matchups against themselves in the early stages of tourneys and then by the time they get to regionals/state the games are not as competitive. The WBL has always complained about this as well in bball.

    Eh.

    I dont follow hoops much but if other districts are doing it then why not. Yeah, it sucks to get beat early in the tournament trail by a league foe when you are a team that is very, very good and could make it a long way, but shit happens. WHat do you expect when you are facing a league team that isnt very far away? Just the nature of a tournament setup.

    A writer also can be selective to what he puts in. If a coach says bad stuff about officials he doesnt have to put it in his article. It isnt like if he does that people will flock to the newsstands to buy the small town newspaper.

    A couple of times I made some comments after a game about referee's, and our team, that I regretted and the writer did not put in the paper. I did give him a call and thank him about it.

    I'm ALL FOR a super sectional, but for different reasons. This article was FULL of QQ. I want a super sectional so winning a "sectional" actually means something.

    Yeah, it was a bunch of whining, no doubt. I guess I never thought of winning a sectional title a big deal.

    That's just it... in the south, you don't cut nets until District (at least that's the way it used to be), and that's after playing in a super sectional. I played in the Piqua sectional, where you had to go through the Shelby County League, who at the time did not play football, only basketball, and you had to win three games just to get out. Yeah, a sectional title was great, but you didn't celebrate by cutting down the nets. You went to Vandalia Butler HS for a one game district, and if you were fortunate (good) enough to win, you got to take home a piece of net!

    Seriously, in some shit sectionals in NW Ohio, you can play one game, against an AWFUL opponent, and you celebrate by cutting down the net? To me, the act of cutting down the net is sacred, and it is watered down by doing it after one measly win.
