Plus FS Detroit doesn't even show up on it, so I'm stuck watching the shitty Indians or a team 4 hours away in Cincy
Don't you have access to Buckeye Cable down in BG?

I don't think I've ever hated a company as much as TW. The worst.

The techs are the worst part. I always get some guy who thinks he's doing me a favor.

I don't use either but I'm always a fan of more competition in any market. In any case, if my cable rates go up anymore, I'm cutting the cord because I don't watch much TV.

Wait until comcast buys them out...

Has google expanded google fiber since they started their testing in KC? That would be a good way to keep cable prices down.

It would take Google forever to roll that out nationwide. I think they're only in a few cities.

I've never dealt with Comcast directly, but my parents have had them for years. I haven't noticed any issues.

TW is awful here, terrible customer service. Also, if your modem or box fucks up, YOU have to turn it in at one of their NYC offices. It's one of those take a number and wait forever places...reminds me of the DMV.

My current apartment is prewired for Verizon and zero complaints so far.

What are the options in OH other than TW or Comcast. DirecTV.....Uverse still around?

For a majority of users, it's TWC or dish.

Some bigger markets (parts of columbus, etc) are blessed with the choice between WOW, Uverse and TWC.

All three service my area, but my complex is 100% TWC

I thankfully live in an area where TWC is not available. It's the local cable company (which is basically paying TWC prices for TWC hand me down equipment), Uverse, or dish.

We have uverse and love it

Competition will ultimately come from the cell providers. However, right now I believe they still need to use the cable company pipes (the towers basically just connects you to the "series of tubes", but usually someone else owns those tubes).

Now VZW and AT&T obviously have their own pipes, I assume (since both are in the cable business). Otherwise we need to realize it's not really competition if you still need to use the pipes owned by the cable company - they'll just continue to raise the standalone internet prices.

Problem I'd have with uverse is that it's considerably slower than TWC's offerings.

It hasn't been an issue with anything that we do, but we don't use a ton of bandwidth at all

Same. Since we've bought our house last year, we've had a different tech out three times, and each one is dumbfounded by how the previous one set everything up. Great, so everyone in your company considers everyone else an idiot.

Just cashed a check today that TW sent me a check for $46 with no explanation so that's that. Still hate them though

I've had both TW and Comcast and they both sucked. I switched to AT&T Uverse which blows them both away price, service and product offering wise.

all pay per views? Assuming you are fucking with me.
  • Tiernan
No I'm not - I have Uverse movies and college and NFL package but I pay extra for each of those as I use them. What's so odd about that?
  • wildcats20
Pay per view would be like the mma fights and big time boxing events. Or for the white trash in us all, wwe events.

I'm talking about just released movies and pay per view events like MMA. HBO, Cinemax, Showyime, Stars and Encore are subscription and I have all those too.

I imagine this is far from complete as the DOJ has to sign off I do believe.

Few years ago ATT agreed to buy TMobile. It didnt ge the OK from the govt and DOJ and in the end ATT had to pay the owners of TMobile a few billion dollars over the whole thing.
