Rite of passage …. ?
-
Belly35Growing up there seemed to be this unwritten rite of passage into manhood. It was sometimes item presented (pocket knife at 9 and shot gun at 10 years old), event that happen (drive a tractor at 10 years old), an expected skills taught (working of cars and trucks at 13) and even parental approval (no curfew after the age of 12) but it was a slow process that built character. </SPAN>
What are, if any is there a rite of passage for manhood today? </SPAN> -

Rite of passage...one would be when you were allowed to be home by yourself for much of a day/evening without a baby sitter. I Think one of the first times I was home without the parents, bascially watching my 4 bros and sisters a plane went down inthe area. There were firetrucks and all sorts of stuff going around looking for said plane. Was kinda scarey as we had no idea WTF was going on and that was before cell phones to call the parents. -

lol no curfew at age 12? Your parents hated you that much that they didn't give a fuck where their 12 year old kid was? Solid, explains a lot.Belly35;1576254 wrote:Growing up there seemed to be this unwritten rite of passage into manhood.
