My grandma cooked with nothing but lard, drank beer almost everyday, and has made it to 85 years old after breaking a shoulder and a hip in her old age. I truly believe that the best way to eat is anything that isn't processed, and stay away from preservatives.

Lard is by far the best taste wise, but I usually use olive oil

All depends on the application. I don't think Olive Oil stands up to really high heat so I typically use Canola Oil for searing meat. For sauteing or sweating vegetables or aromatics, I used EVOO. I use a little butter if I am frying an egg.

I don't deep fry at home very often but when I do I use peanut oil.

We did steaks in a cast iron skillet last night and used coconut oil. It was my first time using coconut oil with steak and it was fantastic. Easily the best steak I've ever cooked.
