Hidden Gems

We haven't had one of these in awhile. What are some of the best local places to visit or eat in your area that others may not know about.

Ill go with Superchefs in Columbus. It is the best breakfast place I have ever been. The red velvet pancakes are amazing and the red pepper grits and shrimp are pretty awesome to.

Ill also say Acme Hot Dog Company near Westerville and Dirty Franks Hot Dogs in Columbus. They both have some really interesting toppings and are always good.

Finally Myas Fried Chicken and Ray Rays Hog Pit. They are both food trucks located in Clintonville. Myas has the best fried chicken and ray rays has the best BBQ I have had anywhere in Ohio.

If I want standard old white people meat and potatoes fare I'll hit up Planks off Parsons (though they are known for their pizza)

The Flower Drum, absolutely the best chinese restaurant in Toledo but fairly hidden due to being located on the fringe of a semi-seedy part of the city.

Back in the '90s, The Greenery on BGSU's campus, which sat next to Anderson Arena before the Bowen-Thompson Student Union was completed, was one of the best places to eat in all of Bowling Green. I used to eat there all the time as a kid before heading out to see those thrilling Antonio Daniels, Dave Esterkamp and Anthony Stacey teams of the Jim Larranaga era.

Had breakfast at superchefs again today. They told us they call it superchefs because the chef was the head chef at the Beijing Olympics. They also said they will have a second location opening in Gahanna in the beginning of feb.

    Trotter's in BG. Awesome steak.

San Marco's mexican restaurant in Toledo. Amazing food, our family gets it all the time for big get togethers now that we know of it. Actually planning on ordering a ton for tomorrow night.

The Attic, kind of a dingy bar in a not so great part of town but has the best beer selection I've seen anywhere.

Bowling Green's selection of food is terrible, I'll give you that, but there are a couple of places that are actually very good -- Easy Street Cafe and Trotters, as mentioned above -- and The Greenery was right at the top. It was awesome. And more of an upscale-ish establishment at the time.

The problem with BG is that there is no variety. There are more pizzerias in town than gas stations. And if pizza isn't your thing, then there are 10 subways from which to choose.

I agree about Flower Drum...It has dropped to my 2nd favorite Chinese in town (behind QQ Kitchen), but I love me some Flower Drum, and I like that nobody knows about it.

Not too shabby! Have not eaten there in years. Used to be where we would go buy our beer when we were 16!

Brother took us to a small place in Pittsburgh that was really good called Sauce, Burgers and Brew I think. Was great burgers....smoking hot bartenders....nice lil place.

Little place on 66 in Shelby County I think called Keyhole PIzza we always liked to stop by. They advertise they have cold pizza and warm beer......
