chicago style pizza in Akron or surrounding area?

    It's stuffed with pasta?

    I'd give it a try.

As someone who has lived in Chicago the last 2 years and has tried every major pizza company's deep dish...it's worth a try. It's unique. It's not really "pizza" it's like a lasagna almost.

You eat it with a fork and knife, one slice can fill you up, it is a heart attack waiting to happen...but pretty good.

I much prefer regular pizza...but when I have friends in town who want to try it, I like that I have the option to get it.

NYC style pizza is unmatched, imo.

Lasagna? There are zero lasagna noodles in it? Umm yes I like a pizza with TOPPINGS. Funny how people order double cheese and double toppings then say something negative about Chicago style pizza which is quadruple toppings?

You can get the real deal here: http://giordanos.com/shop/

I've done it before and they were very good at home.

Cleveland style pizza is a really big slice of heartache topped with misery and dispair. But for some dumbass reason the people who live there keep buying it.

Anyone who can not get the real deal from Chi-town should use the link and order one.

STFU about that thin gross ass pishitzza and order the best deep dish online.

    This.

I've had Lou Malnati's like this. Not the same as Giordano's, but definitely worth eating.

    That's an interesting looking casserole.

Not exactly Akron or what I would consider the surrounding area, but Great American Pizza Co. in Brunswick is the closest thing I've had.

A casserole must be served in its dish and is more like a stew than deep dish pizza.

    Here's a stew:

    Here's a casserole:

Those two are clearly more similar than the casserole is to the picture you posted.

    WTF is THAT ^ Pants!?!

Pizza has to have a crust of some type period. That thing is an abomination of all that is holy.

It was one of the images when I googled "casserole". I agree it looks like shit.

I just thought it was funny that said told me a casserole is more similar to a stew than a Chicago pizza.

For the record, I've had some damn tasty Chicago pizzas.

Erroneous. It's good, but not the best.

Rasicci's in North Hill and Rocco's in the Falls are both better, IMO (and several of my friends/family agree). Don't get me wrong, Luigi's is really good, and the atmosphere is fun. I just don't think the pizza is the best ever.
