Nope, not because it's a wedding.Tiernan;1551500 wrote:Is it because its a wedding cruise you are allowed to do this? Usually cruises dont let you bring any alcohol on board whether its wine or not.
Liquor and Beverage Policy
Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation Day:
Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board. However, at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring on board one bottle (750ml) of wine or champagne, per person, only in their carry-on luggage. -

sportchamppsYeH carnivalesque allows each person 1 bottle. I've read a few places they check listening bottles and such but never saw anyone having a hard time when we got on the ship. You can also bring a 12 pack of soda cans

Or bottled water. My friend took all of the inside bottles out of the pack, filled them with vodka and then put them back on the inside and put the real water on the edges. Worked well for him.sportchampps;1551615 wrote:YeH carnivalesque allows each person 1 bottle. I am not sure what I am going to take for a non-alcoholic beverage yet. -
Classyposter58Showing a blizzard off the coast currently, but the forecast models are way off here. I believe if it's more likely to come west, no way does that piece of energy get from Cali to Alabama in 48 hours, almost impossible for a stream vort to move that quick. Once we get to 72 hours out we're gonna have a pretty good picture of what this thing will do

It's actually a wedding cruise. My friends will be getting married on the ship Sunday morning, and then we leave for Cozumel, Belize, Roatan and Grand Cayman later that day. There are about 18 or so friends plus the families of the bride and groom. Should be a pretty great time.
Also, this is happening:
Each person can take one bottle of wine or champagne on the boat in their carry-on. So that's my Sobieski Riesling. -

Isn't Riesling the most dry white wine out there?Zombaypirate;1551670 wrote:Got sweet tooth? -

I know nothing about wine, but I believe it can actually range from dry to sweet.Classyposter58;1551677 wrote:Isn't Riesling the most dry white wine out there?
My vodka Riesling probably won't be very sweet. I plan to pair it with tonic water. -
gutYou don't even need a corker...Some cheaper wines have a twist-top cap. They really wouldn't be able to tell it had been opened (and not like people making $10/hr are going to be all the conscientious about someone smuggling in some liquor).
Or you could rip-off Makers and melt wax over your re-corked bottle. -

LOL. No. Chardonay is much dryer. Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc. I'd say Moscato, and maybe gweürztraminer are the only ones sweeter than a riesling, however there are both dry and sweet rieslings. But it's definitely not the driest whites, by any stretch.Classyposter58;1551677 wrote:Isn't Riesling the most dry white wine out there? -
dlazzCan we get back to the winter storm please?
Thanks. -
Classyposter58
Eh depends where you get it because I've been to a few wineries where the dry riesling were very dry. I forgot about that one, but Riesling isn't very fruity one compared to some others, maybe only Chardonnay is lessernest_t_bass;1551858 wrote:LOL. No. Chardonay is much dryer. Ok well American forecast models are showing a blizzard along the east coast pretty much with the piece of energy bringing snowfall here maybe dropping 3-6" for most heredlazz;1551871 wrote:Can we get back to the winter storm please?
Thanks.
Canadian ones are showing Columbus north getting 4-8" with the highest amounts in far NW Ohio
I think 3-5" will be the ultimate total for those in C-Bus and to the north, if we see a phasing event where two low pressures combine to create a large snowstorm it'll be on the coast -
bases_loadedHow long will we be in this weather cycle? Seems like every week its the same forecast.

Classyposter58Chesapeake, the snow ratios are expected to be 12:1 up here and 10:1 further south around C-Bus

What does those ratios work out to be as an accumulation?
e/ Weather reports are saying "light snow" and that is a disappointment. -
Ironman92My school called 2 hrs ago and announced a 2 Hr delay for tomorrow due to extremely cold temperatures.
Now I can give some reasons to back this decision....BUT
The temperature tomorrow at 6:00-7:00 am when most kids get on the bus is supposed to be 9 degrees.....2 hours later it's supposed to be 7 degrees. -
Classyposter58
Just do whatever you're slotted to get, divide by 10 and then multiply by 12. Usually when it comes to snow the lowest you see is 8:1 and that is a thick snow, 10-15:1 is typical, and with Alberta Clippers it's 20+:1. Colder it is usually the higher the snow ratio, there are other factors but that's the big onesaid_aouita;1552241 wrote:What does those ratios work out to be as an accumulation?
